"So every now and again you discover a gem of a hotel, this was in that category. Just a few minutes from the motorway, easy to find, centrally located in the town, free and ample parking. On arrival in the hotel, was greeted by a very friendly young lady who checked me in, took my dinner reservation and showed me to me room. The room was a good size for one person, bed was comfortable and the room was modern, bright and well equipped. Dinner was excellent, top service, great food and reasonable...

The bar area was perfect for relaxing later in the evening and the breakfast was very tasty and filling. The staff was very helpful and friendly from start to finish. "Brilliant, What a lovely welcome, a roaring log fire and instant access to our room without any fuss. The hosts were very friendly and attentative throughout our stay. A lovely comfortable room with all the amenities. Breakfast was amazing. contintental yes, but we were offered and given scrambled eggs on toast cooked to perfection. The only downside was the stairs, being a very old building the stairs were very steep and not for the elderly or infirm. The hotel was beautifully decorative and steeped in history throughout. perfect for our stopover as it was only a couple of hundred yards from the motorway. Highly recommended. Thank you "
