My king of kings room was spacious (for London) and had great windows, and the staff were all exceptionally attentive--the front desk spent twenty minutes helping me find a suitable restaurant with a table available. The only downsides were that (1) the couch in my room was much too low for the table that was crowded up against it; (2) the restaurants in the hotel were all too loud or spicy for my boring tastes; and (3) the staff upsold me to a more expensive room when I arrived less than an hour before check-in time, on the pretext that my reserved room wasn't ready yet; that may have been true, but a sales pitch is not what one wants to deal with when one arrives exhausted from travel, and simply giving me whatever room was available, without an extra charge, would have been more gracious.
