We were upgraded to an upper floor with funchal bay view. Excellent views from the room and great service from staff! Breakfast had a wide spread and was good. Take note that there are opening hours for the sea access level. The only downside was the rooms a little dated.

Like most big 5-star properties, Savoy Palace is impressive but impersonal. It’s relatively new so everything is still in good condition. Our room on floor 9 was large with a king-sized bed (good mattress, soft pillows) and a nice balcony. Swimming pool on floor 0 was 70m and lovely. Lots of cabanas and loungers available in early May when we were there. The rooftop infinity pool is small but floor 16 and 17 where the lounge area and restaurant are, has great views of the area.
