"Disappointing for the cost. On the telephone prior to arrival, the staff were helpful but upon arrival, nothing was explained about the facilities and my room wasn’t ready in time. Attempting to checkout was a nightmare and took some time. Housekeeping staff were wonderful and room was clean. One lift was out of action which meant multiple stops on each use. Hairdryer in room did not work and when I mentioned this at the reception, the chap asked if I was using it properly?! Condescending. Pool area was untidy, with half eaten food left on the floor and loungers. Plus notes: Bathroom was magnificent. Bed was comfortable. Hotel was in a great central location."

"The room was very clean and comfortable. They provided room slippers also. The location was excellent. Right across from Waverley station. Since my husband and I took the train from London, it was convenient. It is located in the center of all attractions, so we walked everywhere from the hotel. Lots of pubs and cafes near by. We purchased breakfast for 2 mornings. Food was delicious and fresh, and the staff members were very tentative and polite. The lounge is located onv7th floor, we were able to enjoy the view of Scotts monument and the park. The price was very reasonable yet excellent customer service. We would definitely stay again if we ever travel to Edinburgh."

"This Ibis Hotel is located in a very convenient area in the old town and the major Edinburgh sites were easy walks from the hotel. The staff was kind and helpful, breakfast was fresh, and my room was very clean. I wish the room had a refrigerator to store cold drinks. "

"The room was okay. For a freshly refurbished hotel, the walls were quite stained and dirty. My biggest downside of the room was the lack of a safe. I have never been to a hotel anywhere without a safe. The location is quite central to the rest of the city. The staff is nice, but there is no elevator and they do not offer help to transport your luggage- so if you have a bad back or something of that effect, you should probably reconsider this property. The bed was comfortable and clean, and the housekeeping staff was wonderful. Not a 5 star hotel by any means, but gets the job done. "

"You cannot charge anything to your room unless you have paid money up front for them to deduct from like a line of credit. The whole thing was ridiculous as they had all my credit card details and could easily charge my card. It was extremely inconvenient having to pay every time you ordered and we had the same issue at the Clayton hotel in Glasgow. We also stayed at the Caledonian hotel in Edinburgh and had no issues charging anything to our room. Other than that there was a lot of construction going on around the hotel so forget sleeping in and one of the 2 elevators wasn’t working. The staff however were great and very polite and helpful and the location was excellent."
