Older, but still the best
Best hotel in NP even though it’s not the newest one. Bathrooms have been upgraded with nice larg3 walk-in showers. One word of caution though: the shower floors are very slippery when wet and require guests to be very careful to not fall. Breakfast is fine, but could be improved by adding more variety of fruit, e.g. pineapple.

Beau hôtel tranquille, il est très propre et le service des staffs sont excellents. Il est a 10 a 15 minutes de marche du Naga Monument. Je recommande très fortement cette hôtel.

Very nice stay.
This is a nice hotel with very comfortable bed and great modern and beautiful bathroom. My room had a great view of the river. The place was quiet and nice. Great breakfast in the morning. I would definitely stay there again.

I quite like the view and facility at the property , swimming pool is wonderful , we enjoyed swimming perfectly , but to disappointed with the keycard spare I only got one and I lost it somewhere in the hotel after breakfast I wanted to go back to the room and I asked front desk for another keycard and they didn’t provide but only just asked bellboy to opened the door for us , unfortunately we need the keycard to activate the electricity , then they got the housekeeping keycard for me and ask me to give it back to the housekeeping by myself I cannot even give it to the front when checking out :((( poor service here indeed . I wish they improve for the staff knowledge in somehow.

An upmarket hotel but showing its age in places. Restoration work was occurring, but had limited affect on my stay. Location is overlooking the Mekong river with several bar/restaurants nearby, and a large local market opposite the hotel twice a week. Far from the town centre but plenty of tuk tuk, to take you.

The Fortune river View Nakhon Phanom is a very moderately priced hotel. I give it 2 1/2 stars. Breakfast choices were somewhat limited -for example no cheese for the omelet. My biggest problem was that there was no place to charge my cell phone - no place for a USB connection. I had to leave it at the front desk overnight. But the hotel is a decent value for the money. I should have done more research to find a four star hotel.

I am extremely happy with the friendliness of the receptionists and staffs. They have provided us with a warm welcome and assisted us throughout our very short stay. Like all hotels in Thailand the bed is pretty hard but otherwise this place is good. Room service prices aren't too bad and the meals are a decent size and tasted nice. There's also plenty of restaurants within a 10min walk. The buffet breakfast was good and includes an egg station. There are a couple of 10kg washing machines across the road (30THB) which was handy as we're travelling for a few weeks. Surprisingly there are no convenience stores within walking distance but plenty around town. The pool was nice to cool off in each afternoon and there's a wooden deck right on the river which I fished from while the family sat and ate some fresh fruit and oysters we'd bought while out sightseeing during the day.

Had problem with electronic door lock. Had to use manual key. And problem with lights but staff quickly fixed. View of river in morning was fantastic!!! This must have been a grand hotel in its hay day. Now a former shadow of itself....still it has its charm if you want old school.

Upon entering the main lobby of this eight floor hotel, it was clear to see that it was severely understaffed and that only a few of the rooms were booked. At the front desk, the attendee was unable to locate my reservation for two rooms for for adults with river view. She informed me that those rooms were not available to Expedia clients. I was forced to show her my verification emails, yes plural, I had to show her all of them several times to convince her that I had a reservation and it was for river view. During this frustrating time, people were pushing to the desk and tossing room keys. Each time, the desk clerk would stop the conversation with me and speak to that person. I never saw her check their records or have an attendant check their room. Once the desk clerk was convinced that I had reservations, she had the bellhop lead us to the elevator. He took us to the 4th floor. Upon entering the room, and during the trip to the room, you could clearly see ghat this hotel had seen better days, was under booked and was in disrepair. We also saw that it was not a river view room. I paid extra for the rooms to ensure that we have a river view. We had been traveling extensively and had been staying in traditional Thai locations. We do not mind doing so. However, the manner in which this hotel was presented on Expedia and the price promised a wonderful, relaxing, comfortable river view room. Two room changes later and one sleepless, sweltering and uncomfortable night later

Great location with river view
I had some issues between Expedia and the hotel which coloured my stay but I will not reflect them in this review. A great location with decent breakfast right on the river. A 10 min walk to the main part of town but there were many restaurants close by and a market directly opposite the hotel on at least one night. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at a reasonable price you would expect for the area. Recommended.

We were surprised that none of the staff displayed the sparkle of Thai hospitality - perhaps too shy to engage with foreigners ? But quite unusual given the warmth and friendliness of Thais generally, and the northeast in particular. Wifi was very slow and erratic in our room (1402). Breakfast was fine, with a good range of foods including fresh fruit, yoghurt, egg station, conflakes, and a wide selection of Asian foods. Thai meals at the restaurant truly delicious (the chicken with ginger, and spring rolls were outstanding - each of these servings costing around THB 120). Views from the hotel across the Mekong to Laos really quite spectacular. Rooms were spacious. Overall, good value for money - but could be so much better given the investment made into the property.

The hotel is OK but needs some renovation in the rooms. All of the people at this hotel are very nice. Bed and pillows were fine. Internet worked great. Right on the Mekong with very nice views. Room was clean but it is very dated. Room had a bit of a musty smell mostly because the carpet is so old. Over all it was clean and acceptable but do not be expecting a new hotel.

An old hotel. Nice lobby. AC in the room was way to cold. Only 1 electrical 2 prong outlet. Paid for the best room but received a side view room instead of front river view room. No safe in the room.
