We stayed for a month and were very pleased with the property, the area and the local cleaning crew/staff.
Our only issue had to do with the check-in process. As there is no front desk, the special instructions specify " If you are planning to arrive after 11 PM please contact the property in advance using the information on the booking confirmation. Guests will receive an access code." Since we were planning to arrive before 11 PM we did not request an access code. We arrived at the hotel about 7:15 PM and were unable to follow the check-in process as the phone outside the lobby area did not connect to any one. We had to call Expedia to get a contact for the hotel staff. That contact turned out to be in Tokyo and they only spoke Japanese. Luckily we had a Japanese speaker traveling with us and were able to get the Tokyo office to provide us with the access code to the front door, our room number and our access code to our room. This problem also happened to three other parties that did not speak Japanese that also were trying to check in when we did. They were lucky as our Japanese speaker was able to call the Tokyo office and work with the staff to check in the other three parties. The next morning the local staff apologized to us.
Given the above issue, my recommendation to the company is to fix the phone and my recommendation to guests is to obtain the access code info and room number prior to arriving at the hotel, regardless of the time you plan to check in.
