Stained carpets in the hallways and rooms (we had 3), cracked and stained sinks in the rooms, and scuffs on the walls. Nice view of canal though it’s very short. Interesting shops along the walking street. Great sweet cafes! The music box museum is more like souvenir shop. About a half day should be enough time to explore Otaru.
