"This stay at Blackthorn went above and beyond what I needed - some time and space for myself to write. In the comfort and peace of this hut in this location, I was able to write nearly 10,000 words, unheard of in my everyday busy life at home! The hut was perfect, the bed extremely comfortable with high-quality linens and duvet/pillows. Kitchen very well-supplied with everything I needed (and more). "The staff were very helpful and parking was a breeze! Our room was snug, comfortable, and quiet. It's hard for our family of 4 to enjoy sharing a room, but this was a great spot! The location is great for walking to City Center and avoiding the congestion fees. Some might find the walk too far and although we didn't take the bus, it would have been easy because there were a ton of stops heading into City Center."

"Very nice property. Mostly clean but being a cleaner myself I feel the doors and shaving mirror in the room could have done with a dust. Nice balcony, nice comfy bed and linen. Quiet at night. Nice bar area with nice outside area & with good snacks. Good for visits to the Cotswold villages etc. would stay again."

"The a/c was powerful, the room was clean, but I didn't realize from the pictures how very small and spare the room would be. I wouldn't say the pictures were misleading, but I didn't realize that I would have to literally squeeze between the bed and the wall, for example. The TV is mounted very high on the wall, making it uncomfortable to watch from the bed, because if it were mounted lower down, it would be impossible to pass it to reach the second bed. I was also not expecting only one towel per person, with no face cloth or hand towel, and one pillow per person. That said, the location was very convenient for bus trips into the center of Oxford, and there were some good cafes and restaurants nearby -- and an M&S Food. And the beds were very comfortable. We ended up here in part because I was having trouble finding hotels that offered twin beds at all. And I could see coming back even now that I know what to expect. I don't know that prices were especially good, but we visited during Oxford University's open days, which combined with tourist season probably put a premium on accommodations during our visit."
