- Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
My husband and I have travelled extensively and we have given many reviews. Never negative. I understand that this is a difficult time for every industry, in particular the tourism industry. We chose to spend three nights at the Doubletree to support our local businesses during Covid 19. I was very disappointed with several aspects of our stay here. Firstly the cleanliness of the hotel! For the three days that we were at the hotel, one of the elevators had toilet paper that had clearly been used as a tissue left in the corner. There was also a large blob of bubblegum that some delightful person had chosen to spit out in the elevator, this also remained on the floor for 3 days. Covid cleaning? The breakfast that we were served in the dining room over the weekend was below standard. Everything that was cooked was cold, the toast was barely toasted, the fruit salad was still slightly frozen and the presentation was the equivalent of a McDonalds drive through. Our final day was compulsory breakfast in our room. The first trays arrived, cold, no butter, cold coffee and a dirty glass. We asked them to redo our breakfast and were presented with two poached eggs on saucer (uncovered) that had been brought up from the kitchen. 50 minutes later we were given a barely edible breakfast, but no coffee. This is NOT the standard I expect from a Hilton Hotel. I could accept the little cut backs that were obvious, but refuse to accept the substandard.
