"This is a rustic old building and as such so are the rooms. They are super clean, however, amenities are basic so if you are looking for modern with all frills this may not be the place for you. We were in Maria and the views are fabulous. The room did have a strong smell of mould which was quite overpowering at times. One thing, the windows were quite modern and opened out at my waist level, I am 5ft1 so would say small children would need careful supervision in this room (if children are allowed). The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, in particular Adriana was very helpful and accommodating. The location is fabulous right in the old town and not far from the Quinta da Regaleira. Lots of nice restaurants and cafes around. We had a fabulous stay and would like to thank all the staff at Palacio de Sintra for making us feel very welcome."

"We loved the Chalet in Sintra!!! This had been constructed as a mansion 150 years ago and had been converted into a boutique hotel. They accommodated an early check in and upgraded us to a suite on the top floor for half the upgrade price. Our room had a view of the ocean! The property was light on amenities, but it was not the sort of place focused on that. It was quaint, romantic, comfortable, clean, with excellent bathrooms. It had maintained much of its 19th century charm and fit in so nicely with the vibe of the village. The was an incredible restaurant across the street, and a excellent cafe up 1 block. The main town was just a quarter mile down the road. The staff was incredibly helpful not only with the hotel but with reservations, sightseeing guidance, etc. Would love to stay here again."
