Beautiful location by the lake. The unit was large and had everything we needed. Dinner at the restaurant was very good. Would definitely stay here again.

This is the most beautiful property! The views from the room were spectacular. We had a late arrival and the staff was very accommodating.

A hidden gem! This place is off the beaten path, about 15 minutes drive from the nearest restaurant, but that was perfectly fine with us. We were longing for some quiet and the view is second to none. The vibrant blue waters of Lake Taupō were mesmerizing and at night, the sky filled with twinkling stars. Couldn’t have asked for a better place.

Excellent stay in lovely setting
Great stay in a lovely setting overlooking the Lake. Accomodation was very good - clean and tidy and everything we needed to showcase this beautiful spot to our overseas guest.

We had a waterfront unit. Windows galore facing the lake. Absolutely beautiful view from living space and bedrooms. Kitchen was well equipped. Parking easy. Wifi was good. Roomy spaces. Washer/dryer worked. Onsite restaurant was nice (and shares the view).

The property was beautiful and front desk staff very accommodating with scheduling and advising about the Tongariro trek and alternative activities in the area. This is really a beautiful place to basecamp and enjoy the views of Lake Taupo. The only downside was that the restaurant was closed during our stay and the only other options were in Turangi. No fault of the resort, only mildly inconvenient. The real issue was in Turangi itself. These were the rudest locals we came across in the many places visited during our trek across all of NZ. Being from Hawaii we usually spread and receive back aloha from our Pacific neighbors. We could barely get service at local restaurants and felt we may truly be in danger entering the local supermarket. It is truly a sad place where a smile and hello is returned with a grunt and get out of town glare. To summarize, the resort stay and nearby treks were some of the greatest experiences of our trip but Turangi and its residents should be avoided if possible.

Hi Mick Thanks for your comments and sorry you could not enjoy our restaurant :)I'm also sorry you felt our local community were rude and unfriendly as this is normally not the case - I have lived here for close to 40 years and am saddened you had this vibe about our town and even felt unsafe. Like everywhere especially in this Day and age there are some that can ruin it for others. Tourists are a big asset to our town and I haven't heard this from other guests so hope this was an isolated experience. Best wishes for your next adventures

The views are outstanding, and the native birdlife is extraordinary, thanks to the predator control undertaken by local volunteers. The apartments are spacious and well-designed.

Beautiful views, spacious apartment. Was great to get travel laundry done, though the dryer seemed a bit out of sorts (off it's bracelet upside down on the floor :/ ) Heating remote screen was blank so hard to figure out settings. Still, overall a lovely stop. Food & service at restaurant also excellent.

This is an unfair review. This guest decided to cancel his booking at 6.20pm on the day of arrival (in our peak period) with no reason. He asked for a refund but in line with our cancellation policy, this was refused.

An absolute winner for location and amenities
Very well-equipped unit and stunning expansive views as always. Our neighbours below and on one side were quite noisy this time, until midnight, which made for a less relaxing visit than previously.

Stunning views and beautifully kept grounds. We had lovely private rooms that were clean and had everything you would need. Staff were helpful and very personable. Only downside eas the bed was a but uncomfortable. But we will definetly be back for another stay.
