"Short ride from airport, they receive you with a non-alcoholic drink. Check in is fast. Rooms are clean and spacious. BUT you can hear everything, from the activities going on outside at night time, as well as people returning to their rooms. Food is ok, had better experiences elsewhere. They do not have a reservation system for the “a la carte” restaurants, first come first served, so if you are not in line at least 30mins before opening time, you may have to wait 1.5hrs or more to eat there. Staff is super friendly, hotel activities are fun, hotel newly renovated except the kids pool area. Overall is a good hotel, you will have fun."

"We had a wonderful stay at Velas Vallarta. The resort is excellent with beautiful grounds and spacious suites. Omar and Julio at Andrea restaurant were outstanding — they took great care of us as vegetarians and made our meals fantastic, while the in-suite kitchenette was very convenient. The only downsides were the rude and unhelpful reception staff during check-in, who seemed to play games and lacked transparency, and the beach not being swim-friendly due to the river outflow. On the plus side, tour operator Brenda was fantastic, very helpful, and suggested great excursions. Overall, we highly recommend Velas Vallarta."

"Staff was awesome no complaints there, always very attentive. I was disappointed on the pool size/available chairs for the size of the hotel. Would have loved having more areas with shade especially along there beach chairs that had none. There is a second pool in the pictures of the hotel, as well as the cabanas, that appear to be an amenity for regular guests, however you need to be part of there club at an extra cost- this was misleading in my opinion. The beach view and access was beautiful and always felt safe. Finally, would have loved an easier snack option available not requiring to get out of your bathing suits again. That’s why I am rating it overall 3.5."
