"Unassuming, yet Quality hotel in San Simeon! (See what I did there?😆). Checkin was quick -front desk staff helpful (even mentioned the afternoon hot cookies and coffee/tea/hot chocolate setup they had available 7/24).
Plenty of parking. Our room had a patio view of the sea. No elevators, so if you have mobility issues, you probably need to stick to the first floor. Lift available for pool. Classic ice machine and local attraction leaflets available near lobby.
Room clean, bathroom decent. Blackout curtains, cable-subscribed TV, microwave and fridge both worked. Bed comfortable. Quiet. Oh, so wonderfully quiet (we were there mid-week in mid-October).
Breakfast was great. Always eggs, breakfast meat, potatoes, and waffles to make. Toaster with muffins, bread, bagels - cream cheese in fridge. Decent assortment of yogurts, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit. And probably more that I overlooked or have forgotten!
Pool area nice, 6-seater hot tub, medium-sized heated pool, seating around a fire pit. Convenient to Hearst Castle, easy drive to SLO, Cambria, Paso Robles.
When we’re in the area again we would definitely stay here absolutely. "
