"I overpaid for the the rooms by a day and realized my mistake immediately and asked for a refund of the one day. The hotel refused. Then Air Canada canceled my flight because of the staff strike. I could not travel. I asked fora refund. The hotel declined since I did not pay extra fee for a refund. No empathy. I lost almost $700 t o the hotel without staying there. I will never book the hotel again. Additionally, I paid for protection. My claim was declined because notice of the strike had been...

"Staff very good and meal great but layout of the site was confusing. It was across between a winter wonderland and centre parcs. Probably nicer in the summer. "

"Had a choice between this motel, which was a little out of the way, or a motorway chain. This did take extra time from the M11, but was it ever worth it. Roydon could be straight out of Thomas the Tank Engine, the railway is right there (but not too noisy), you can walk to the little station, a canal on your doorstep, two very decent pubs, a coffee bar for sandwich or coffee in the marina.
Staff were friendly, unit was clean and looked purpose built and not that old, room and bathroom very large by UK standard. It did take a bit to get the room warmed up in late Dec, but maybe didn't understand the heating.
Roydon is a very little station - lots of trains through, but not many stop. To go to London you want to go backwards one stop up to Harlow, about five minutes by train, then lots of fast choice every few minutes from there to Stansted, London, and Cambridge. Just note trains stopping at Roydon end early and are lots frequent - you can drive to Harlow station easily but all the usual station problems of crowding and limited parking, so take the little train there if you can.
Overall really good, a nice change from places with no soul. And where else could you sit beside a canal in a modern room with your car steps away, all in a quiet village with easy parking, and still hop a train into London in 30 minutes?
And a shoutout to the New Inn pub on the high street - what a perfect small pub with fantastic staff and locals that love life. The White Hart may be good too."
"Incredible, my friend stayed here for nearly 3 weeks whilst recovering from surgery, they were absolutely brilliant from the moment she got there until she left. Fabulous hotel, fabulous staff. The whole experience was amazing, thank you ♥️"
"All the staff we interacted with were brilliant. Front desk, bar and restaurant, and the spa. Could not have been friendlier, or more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. But Zara on front desk was exceptional. She made us so welcome, and on discovering details about our reservation were not on their record, organised a card and gifts to make our celebration that much more special. The grounds and spa are great. Our room was excellent. "
"It was lovely very clean, friendly helpful and were happy to help with little bit and bobs needed , the grounds are lovely and kept in great order,
Sauna was lovely, food was nice,
Definitely recommend "
