The entrance to the building was very unique. It had a nice balcony, it was very clean, and the staff was always at the desk if you needed something.

Dear Guest,Thank you for your review, it is appreciated.We are sorry for the missunderstanding regarding the breakfast but we don't have anymore that service from few years. Your rate and every other reservation that arrive in hotel Taormina is "room only" and it should be advertised that way from the agencies. If you can inform us please where is it advertised?Unfortunately the mattresses are a bit hard but informing us about that it was possible to provide in the morning softener for them to lay on top.Best regards, htl Taormina

The worst experience in my travel i never go back there , the hotel is under construction and the dont post , no elevator and the rooms are small and smelly

Good value but annoying
This hotel is good but one very annoying thing is that guest had to register through the front desk and it feels that the stuff is judging you when you bring in someone. Also there is no lift and reception is located on 2nd level so you might have to carry your luggage up all the way.

Likes: Clean, close to Termini, next to Gelato shop. Dislike: Front desk staff does not have professional hospitality. Pull a long face when getting busy, then tell clients service is closed for an hour due to his tight schedule !

It was about a 15 minute walk from the train station at late at night. There were a few people walking around, but there were also people sleeping on the street. In the day the neighborhood looked better. I didn't see a lift. Difficult to connect to the WiFi.

Nice Hotel
The location is good, about 20 minutes walking to Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, termini station is 15 mins, subway is 2 mins. The hotel itself is wonderfully kept and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The room is spacious and renovated nicely. AC and Wifi are NOT included in the price and are an extra charge. Breakfast is very basic, just buns and condiments with coffee and juice. Overall a good stay.

Ideal for short stay
Stayed 1 night as flight home left too early to catch a train from Assisi. Well placed for Termini station however only walk if you aren't dragging a case - the roads are cobbled or pot holed! Hotel reception is on first floor with no elevator so again this is difficult with heavy cases. Great breakfast in morning and staff will open early if you're flight leaves before normal breakfast time.

We love this place!
This is our second stay at the Taormina, and the hotel has been updated a good bit since 2012. The rooms were very clean and our triple room was huge! The bathrooms were new and very clean too. The beds were comfy. The breakfast is standard with coffee, cappuccino machine, various pastries, and juices. The location is right next to the Termini station and two other metro stops. You are just a short metro ride away from the major tourist sites. The hotel is in a residential part of Rome, but we felt very safe there. Don't miss the Santa Maggiore church, which is very close. Also, there are some great restaurants just a few blocks away. There are some stairs to deal with when you enter the building. We would definitely stay there again. You can't beat the value!

Great Room on a budget

Bad customer service.
The hotel charged me for every single extra. The only extra I didn't have to pay for was the room light. Even the usage of the A/C was charged for. (Not to mention the "free" wifi which cost me 1€ and didn't even work). It has no elevators, and it was a maze to get to the room. Locationwise, it is located near the station, which is very convenient, but as it happens in every large city, the surroundings of the train station were not nice.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are not large but considering the reason for going to Rome is to sight see not stay in the room they are great. 1 1/2 blocks from tram which runs to the train station every 5-10 minutes. A couple of very nice Italian resturants about 2 blocks away.

The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were great. The only thing that would have been nice is free air-conditioning as we couldn't open the windows onto the street which was relatively busy and noisy.

1 located in a poor dirty far side of the city -not recomanded for late nights walks 2 all rooms no elevators -unfriendly stairs 3 air condition is not included! 4 WIFI NOT INCLUDED! 5 breakfast -give me a brake no more than butter and few jams and roasted brads and buns coffee is ok pure minimal eurostyle

Good spot near tour bus route.
Nice Hotel large bathroom and pretty much as advertized. Area around Hotel it a bit lower end but had no issues. Very close to the train terminal, and bus tours. went out the front door turned left and walked about 3 block and we were on the city tour bus route...

Great Little Hotel - get what you pay for.
This is a great little hotel, pretty central for all the main attractions. The surrounding area needs a little bit of a tidy up but this is no different from any other big city. Service from the reception staff was excellent, rooms spacious and cleaned every day, bathroom a good size. Breakfast was basic but we were aware of this before booking. Would definitely stay here again.

Reasonable location for main tourist sites, although not the nicest of areas. A few doors down from excellent gelato shop. Reception staff were great, their English was good and they were very helpful and attentive. Rooms very clean, bathroom lovely, bedding and towels good. Breakfast very basic but plentiful. Good restaurant 3-4 minutes walk away - 'il padellacio 2'. Ideal base, would recommend.

Too far from everything in seedy part of town
My intention is never to give a bad review, but this hotel is quite confusing. First, if you ever find it, you will realize that the front desk is located in the building next door, that's if you are staying on the 3rd floor. So you have to walk up steps to the front desk to check in, then go back down the steps and go next door to the other building. Good news is that the other building has an elevator that holds approximately 4 people, but that's 4 people without luggage. Coming from the USA it was quite confusing as to why they would need our passports at check in to enter all of our information into the computer system, but I then came to realize that this is something that the Italians use for ID. While in the US we use any drivers license. While we stayed out quite late, it isn't safe around this area, as we were told by the owner of an ice cream parlor about 5 blocks away. He suggested that we walk away from the hotel and take the metro to go back, instead of walking. It would be safer to have and early dinner and retire for the night and make early moves in the morning since the wholesalers in the area are open quite early. All in all, we still enjoyed Rome, but if we were given the truth about this hotel and location, we would not have stayed there.
