We loved our stay at Bungalows Zicatela. I traveled with my husband and two teenage boys. We were very comfortable and the staff was amazing. Front desk, security, restaurant staff, maid service and maintenance persons were all very friendly and helpful. There are many pools and the free breakfast is delicious and the portions are big. We also ate there for dinner a few times and it was also very good. The maid service is impeccable. My room always felt so clean after they were there and they would fold our towels into elephants and swans which I thought was really special. The air conditioner works really well which was a godsend as Puerto gets VERY hot. The only downsides to the hotel is it is noisy at night due to being next to 2 big beach clubs that keep it rocking loud. There also aren’t any room safes. I would definitely stay here again if I ever find myself on Zicatela Beach again. Thank for making our trip special.

I paid 3 times what it should charge. Staff is unfriendly, pool is disgusting and the interior is about what I've paid $25-$50 a night in other similar locations. RUn down and not that clean. I will never stay here again. If it was $50 a night instead of $140 i would not complain. Better to spend more here in Puerto for nicer stays. If you are a big wave surfer and want to stay in walking distance from Zicatela beach then go ahead.

I went with a group of friends and stayed in Bungalows Zicatela and our stay was really pleasent. The location is the best for this hotel, right in front you have restaurants and night bars to go have some fun also to go shopping ecerything is walking you don’t need to drive or grab a taxi. The beach is also right in front.The staff were exellent people to us helped us out in everything we needed. The seimming pool and the breakfast were awsome as well. The only thing about this hotel are the rooms the furniture is old and nothing modern, roomw were clean anyways so it was okay, other than that I really do recomend this hotel to stay I give it an 8 out of 10.

This was our first time to Puerto Escondido and Bungalow Zicatela was the perfect place to stay because in the middle of a lot of activities. Due to flight delays, we arrived a day later and the hotel still held our reservation. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. The hotel has 2 restaurants, which both had excellent food. We stayed for 2 weeks, which seemed longer than most stay so we developed some friendships with the staff. There is a lot more to see in Puerto Escondido so we will be back and probably will stay at Bungalow Zicatela.

Great staff and great location! They go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need, the restaurant was great! Also included breakfast with your stay! Convenience stores and shopping within in steps of walking, lot’s of restaurants and beach clubs close by as well, We will definitely be coming back!

Very basic place with basic amenities. There was a lot of construction happening as well with the pool. Not noisy, but might be a bit nicer when it is done. The wifi hardly ever worked at our top floor unit. The clubs across the street are INCREDIBLY noisy and go until about 3am or 4am depending on the night. The included breakfast is nice and is actually (relatively speaking) very good.

This hotel is in a perfect location if you visit for party. Is in the middle of an active night life. Food was good, friendly staff, pool is nice, ac worked fine, and beautiful ocean views with sunset terrace. I would definitely come back.

Great location & great view from our room of the ocean, surfers & sunset. Close to walk to everything from here. Unfortunately Thur til Sunday night the dance music from Cana Brava roof top party deck blasted directly at our windows til 3:30 am. We wore ear plugs but for 3 weeks it was a lot to take. We heard it was loud but we didn’t think THIS LOUD! The WiFi is also very on & off but there’s cafes nearby to go to for this if you need. We wouldn’t stay likely here again only because of the loud music .

The stay at Bungalows Zicatela was comfortable and somewhat pleasurable. The first room we were given had a very small bed so we were upgraded to a bungalow. The air conditioner and tv were not working so they gave us another which also had a malfunctioning air conditioner. They then moved us to another bungalow that everything worked in but smelled horrible. Probably due to smokers and poor cleaning. They finally moved us to another bungalow where everything worked and was clean and fresh smelling. This whole process took 2.5 hours but the end result was worth the effort. The staff did everything possible to help us and make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. the hotel needs to repair a lot of things to make it overall good. We could not have stayed there in a room with a malfunctioning air conditioner.

I spent 16 days at this lovely hotel. Two incredible employees, Carlos & William, who were very kind to this older, solo female traveler deserve special mention as well as my maid Lina who created the most beautiful towel arrangements! Clean refreshing pools. Fabulous breakfast with a host of choices available. Loved having a fridge and access to English channels.

If you don't mind not being connected to the world, not having a good internet... this is a good place. But Puerto Escondido in general has huge internet problems and for me it's very disappointing. Only Salena has internet with satellite and they are never disconnected

Frühstück sehr gut aber leider wenig Auswahl . Außerdem durfte man nur ein Mal essen auswählen . Saft oder andere Art von Getränke hat man in Rechnung gestellt 😡😡. Gratis gab es Kaffee und Tee (Ich trinke kein Kaffee) . Die Milchshake und Säfte leider nicht gut , besonders die Milchshake waren eine Katastrophe. Die Service war sehr gut. Die Zimmer mit Klimaanlage und Ventilatoren. Waren sehr sauber !

I booked with “breakfast inclusive”, but the “breakfast inclusive” does not mean buffet . What is very annoying is, you have to select only one menu or order (menu or order is only one kind of food) . To drink you can only select coffee or tea ! But you can not select juice or another kind of drink 😡😡. The breakfast taste very good but there are not enough choice , after 5 days you get bored … the milkshakes or juice in comparison to another restaurants very bad ! The service is excellent ! The rooms are a little bit expensive for what you get (that is my opinion) this hotel has two restaurants, one in front of the beach is worth ! The staff or employees very friendly …

The pools were dirty, the water was not clear. There was no hot water, there was a lukewarm water but you couldn’t adjust the water to make it warmer. We killed 3 spiders in the room. There was a giant door draft in the bottom of the door big enough for giant mice to come in, I rolled up a towel and wedged it under the door.
