"IT'S AN SRO AND DID NOT MENTION IN THE ONLINE RESERVATION SITE THAT I COULDN'T HAVE GUESTS FROM 10:00P.M. to 9:00A.M.!! And because I love writing great reviews for great places as a retired advertising account specialist for travel magazines, I take the responsibility of truth in advertising very seriously, so failing to inform me that it was an SRO was wrong. And if you're like me, not an"SRO person, you won't even know what an SRO is !! And I will say that because of the nice people I met, especially the San Francisco building inspector whom I had to call in order to get the 19th century heating system working, which it did very well once it was turned on, and the room was as small as it was very affordable. Great if you're looking for a quiet place to crash out. The bustling North Beach nightlife makes the location perfect for partying if you check in as a couple, but what's up with that no guest BS? Keeping it real and always 100, Santaba."

"Awesome historical hotel centrally located just steps away from Union Square and Powell St. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Tne rooms comfortable and spacious. The only disadvantage is that the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant or coffee shop. There is a little smell throughout the property. But in general we enjoyed our stay "

"The staff was so friendly and helpful. We arrived after midnight and they accommodated us with no problem, the only down side are the walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors full conversation. Great location for walking and accessing bus, bart and cable cars. "
