"Room and a hotel was very neat. Excellent location and veiw. Staff went above and beyond. Only complaint is lack of typical hotel amenities like ice machines and vending machines. Parking was inconvenient but location makes up for it."

Old Powder House Inn

"Charm and location. The room we stayed in was truly like being home (we live in an 1892 Victorian) and we instantly fell in love with the decor. Unlike the "brand name" lodgings that we've become accustomed to The Powder House was the antithesis of the sterile institutional cookie cutter banality. The "staff" was charming, beyond hospitable, and very proud of the quality of the experience created for the quests. One comes to St. Augustine because of the history and a desire to go back in time and the Powder House instantly set the tone for a wonderful weekend. The breakfast we were served was gourmet quality and after years of eating on Styrofoam and plastic it was a treat to eat on plates and silverware. My only observation which many people might find a problem was the size of the lavatory whish was rather small but had a charm of its' own (our Victorian shares those same qualities, it truly was like being home}. We'll stay there again assuming that readers of this review don't book them up solid until the Second Coming."

"This is a great hotel. We were only going to stay 2 nights and added an extra night because liked the hotel so much. Great location. Loved the rain shower which you don't really expect at such an inexpensive hotel. The property is pristine. If you dont want to spend alot of money but want a nice, clean and friendly staff hotel, you must stay here."

"The location was close to the historic places we wanted to visit, as well as the restaurants and bars. An easy walk to it all. A friendly and helpful staff, and a delicious and plentiful breakfast! We loved sitting out on the balcony in the late evening to pleasantly unwind after a busy day."

"I had a wonderful five night stay here. The location is convenient but in a quiet area. Parking is included and an easy walk down a block and around the corner. I parked my car and never moved it. Everything is very clean and tidy. The staff is very helpful with all arrangements. The guests were all lovely and shared some good ideas about things to do and see. The real reason to stay here I think is the breakfasts! Lots of healthy creative flair! If you’re a foodie this may be the place for you. I enjoyed the entire experience very much and have already recommended it to friends."

"Enjoyed our four night stay. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was great. The availability of soft drinks and bottled water any time was a very helpful and nice touch. We did not avail ourselves to the freshly baked cookies in the afternoons but they looked delicious. There were other nice touches provided by the inn that we thoughtful. We stayed in the Amethyst room which was beautifully decorated and furnished. Bathroom was very roomy, well decorated and appointed with high quality materials. Bed was very comfortable with quality linens. We checked in after 4:30 pm so we were helped with checking in and keys over the phone as the staff leaves around 4 pm. This worked out great with the exception that we did not avail ourselves to check in orientation. Our room received a light refresh upon request half way through our stay. We wished we had understood room servicing and cleaning so we could have had our expectations in line with the service. We blame ourselves for not meeting with a staff member the next morning after check in for a full orientation. We appreciated the property’s convenient location with relation to all of the activities and restaurants. Free parking was a plus and we had no problem finding a spot to park and found the spaces roomy and easy to access. We would recommend the property to others looking to conveniently and comfortably experience St Augustine."

The Bayfront Inn

"We go to St Augustine often as we live only 2 hours away and it is our getaway place. I had booked our weekend back in May of this year at another Inn that we always stay at. Upon arrival at that Inn, we found out they were closed and actually going thru renovation! Somehow our reservation slipped thru via online booking and so we had to find another place to stay last minute. We check alphabetical along the bayfront area and The Bayfront Inn came up first. We went online, happily got a reservation and to our pleasure, our stay at the Bayfront ended up costing us $350 less than the 1st reservation was, Woohoo!!. The Bayfront's architect is gorgeous, large rooms, all the amenities, quiet, clean and well maintained, has a nice Bayfront view and is close enough for walking to the historic section, shops, restaurants and all the local sites. Nice hot breakfast served daily plus lite hors d'oeuvres daily around 5pm. We absolutely fell in love with the place and will now make The Bayfront Inn our go to place!"
