The rooms are very modern and cosy. Bed is very comfortable. It can be quite noisy until the pub downstairs shuts which was midnight for the night I stayed there. Otherwise great location close to the beach and walking definitely to great cafes and restaurants
I had a fantastic 8 day stay. The room I stated in was newly decorated and very comfortable . Katie on reception was the most helpful person you could wish to meet
Location is amazing because of how close it is to the beach. I preferred this beach over Coogee due to it being less busy. Rooms were beautifully done and bed very comfy. Everyone was friendly too. Only downside was that during checkout i couldnt find anyone.
The Clovelly was a great location near the beach and was easily accessible to downtown Sydney on the bus. The main floor was a very busy bar, however, the rooms upstairs were very quiet. The rooms have all been recently renovated. The staff were very friendly and the service was great. Would highly recommend.
The new guestroom renovation has been beautifully done, very tasteful and stylish, could do with an occasional chair of sorts in the room, but otherwise very comfortable and clean. I was complimentary upgraded to a King with an ocean view, and service was great. highly recommend the property

Nice rooms, but rowdy and disappointing service
I booked this room for my mother as she was visiting. It was a Sunday and the pub was absolutely heaving - there were a lot of drunken people swearing and being rowdy as soon as we walked in so I was instantly worried about my mother. There was no one on reception and we had to get a bouncer to call someone. We were shown to the door of her room and entered - sadly there was an empty beer can left on the window sill which didn’t really help with first impressions. My mum was jetlagged and couldn’t sleep due to the noise downstairs. Thankfully the pub closed at 10 so it quietened down after that. In the morning she had to leave through the underground car park which wasn’t explained to us so she found that a bit confusing. I wouldn’t book here again.
I was very happy with the room itself, I had an ocean view and because the bar patio was right under my window it did get a bit loud at night but the noise level wasn't too bad. The room was nicely updated and I loved the furniture/bathroom/accents. My main concerns were that the hotel also has a bar and restaurant and it seemed like the hotel was an afterthought because the front desk was not staffed 100% of the time. There's no sign on the outside of the hotel saying "Clovelly Hotel" so Also they would close the main door to the hotel in the morning so you would have to use the car park to exit the hotel! It was very annoying - I wish they would just keep the main door open and put up a sign that the restaurant is closed or something.
Recently renovated the room was very clean and comfortable. Being a mid week stay there was no noise from the pub downstairs but that may be a different story on the weekend. Being pub style accommodation the one drawback is the front desk is not attended around the clock so if you need anything after hours you're on your own. Location is beautiful. Staff are friendly and helpful. Stayed there with family including 2 young kids with no hassle but I think ideally this place is best suited to grown ups enjoying a few days in the eastern suburbs

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Great location and friendly, helpful staff. Rooms were immaculately clean and a reasonable size. Property was quite noisy at night however, but it seemed they were sorting out some maintenance issues at the time so may not usually be an issue. Overall was a good place to stay.
It’s a great location and the rooms are beautifully decorated. Big comfortable beds and great quality soaps, moisturiser, and hair products available

The hotel and Wotif didn’t send me a confirmation of the book even in my Wotif account in order to me rent another one in the last day thinking there were no Reservation. How can it be possible nowadays. It looks likes planed with bad intention by the site. I wanna my money back.
The hotel had just been fully refurbished and the rooms were absolutely beautiful.Clise to Clovelly beach & lovely ocean glimpses.Staff were awesome& we received complimentary drink vouchers& coffee vouchers for the cafe across the rd as the pub does not do breakfast.Excellent place to stay
