Stayed here for one night before heading to Okayama via Naoshima. This hotel was probably a top tier hotel when it was built but it’s definitely showing its age now. The room control panel for the lights and alarm clock didn’t work properly so it was not possible to turn off the bedside reading light without using the master switch which meant that nothing could be switched back on until that switch was activated again. Additionally it appears that the console in our room had been changed or fixed at some stage which left a very noticeable and jagged cut out in the carpet between our two beds. It looked very poorly done. This hotel could be really great with a partial refit and maybe some recarpeting. Complaints aside it’s a good hotel that could be made better.

Wonderful hotel adjacent to the Tokushima JR train station and super helpful Tourist Information office. The location is so convenient for the first 22 of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage. Staff is terrific, rooms are spotless, bed is comfortable.

Nice hotel located by the train station. Has a vareity of food options around the hotel. Has a tourist attraction that is free to see. You can access the observation tower which is across the street from the hotel. I had a good night in this hotel. It was quiet at night and the morning staff are quiet when cleaning the rooms. 객실 욕실 아주 청결했고 파자마가 매일 새걸로 교체되었더라구요 3박했는데 아주 만족스런 숙소였습니다. 교통이 아주 편리했어요 공항리무진이 호텔 바로앞에 서고 나오시마 가기위한 페리 선착장도 바로 호텔 뒤에 있고 효고마치까지는 걸어갈정도로 가까운 거리라 위치적으로 아주 좋았습니다. 조식부페도 좋았어요 매일 과일을 충분히 먹을 수 있어서 좋았고 음식도 동서양 골고루 접할수 있었어요 다음에 또 다카마쓰에 오면 여기에 꼭 묵고 싶습니다. 프론트 데스크 직원들도 아주 친절했어요

The JR Hotel Clement is the best hotel in downtown Takamatsu and the favorable dollar-to-yen exchange rate made its price in dollars very affordable to my son and me. We have stayed in this hotel previously, visiting my wife's relatives in Takamatsu. On this recent visit to Japan in December and January 2023 I had booked separate rooms for my son and me, for five nights over the New Year and then again for five more nights after we toured northern Japan for six days. On our return stay we learned that the hotel had now installed a small coin laundry on the fifth floor. The absence of a coin laundry had been the only previous drawback to staying at the Clement, since no public coin laundries are available near the hotel. In our trip to northern Japan coin laundries had been available at each hotel, which is a significant benefit for travelers. The Clement has always offered laundry and cleaning services, priced by individual clothing items, but the prices for those services are far higher than the cost of the machines in the new coin laundry. Only two machines are in the Clement's new coin laundry, which is a small number of machines for a hotel of that size. But they are a welcome improvement to this already excellent hotel.

Hotel location is pretty good, with excellent transport access. There is JR station, city rail station, bus terminal, ferry pier nearby. Shopping and eating is available 3 bus stops away. Famous site-seeing points around. Hotel appears new and clean, room is spacious, toiletries are nice and adequate. We do appreciate the bakery shop on ground floor as well.

We had a suite on an upper floor so fantastic view of the sea and islands. Very spacious rooms but slightly dated decor and furnishings. Main lobby area attractive and good breakfast. Convenient location next to station and bus station. Across the road from the ferry port. About 10 minutes walk to main shopping area.

WONDERFUL STAY
We LOVED our 3 night stay. We loved the LOCATION, the room, the robe and nightwear, and the service. We will definitely stay here on our next trip. Our only (very minor) complaint was that the pillows were too soft !!
