Hotel is not within walkable distance from takayama city centre. But fine if you have your own car. Size of my room is comparable to any Japanese business hotel - APA, Super and you name it. But amenities are available. Onsen is available. Afterall, good for value.

The staff were very helpful and those that couldn't speak English quickly worked through any queries with Google Translate. Cleaning staff would not take tips (good to see that not everywhere is focussed only on money) Very friendly - will stay there again.

Our stay at Tabino hotel was wonderful. Friendliest staff and they had an onsen. It is situated about 10 minute Drive from the station and they provide hourly transportation to/from. We stayed 1 night which was great to unwind- use the Onsen and enjoy the folk village & downtown area. Tabino was a perfect option for us!

Excellent breakfast. Room is not spare space and not very comfortable when I wanted relaxing time out of the bed.

Front office staff is very helpful. Room and onsen are acceptable. Location of the hotel is off the main tourist area and the hotel provide free shuttle bus to supplement this key disadvantage. However, the bus schedule is not frequent and the drop off/pick up locations are limited. Most disgustingly, I witness the shuttle bus driver spit out of the window when driving.

Brand new, very comfortable with the onsen for every night and good in English , Mandarin speaking of need. Nice comfortable to stay. Convenience with family market just right opposite and convenience to go to the centre of the Takayama. Excellent

The hotel is new with hot spring, but the room is very small, you can hardly open your luggage, and the bed is quite hard.

Cozy hotel
The hotel is good with separated hotspring. It provides yukata of your choice. The location is slightly out of town, but they provide shuttle bus; i wish i know about the shuttle bus before reaching the hotel.

Very good option to stay for a couple of days in Takayama: the hotel is recent, hence a very nice level of comfort and although the rooms as expected not gigantic, they are well equipped, with a full bathroom, clean and functional. The “ofuro” is also quite nice, with indoor and a small outdoor bath overlooking the river. A shuttle brings you to and from Takayama station every hour: very convenient even if you have a car, as parking can be an issue. And you can enjoy fully excellent food and drinks downtown... If you don’t indulge yourself with some beautiful ryokans while in Takayama, the Tabino is a quite attractive option. PS: laundry machines available in the hotel: keep you off the burden of finding a launderette....

It has onsite free parking and helpful staff who tries his best to accommodate my request, thanks a lot. The property is not in or around city center of Takayama but not an issue if you drive. Good breakfast.

Nice newer hotel with good breakfast, staff, onsen and shuttle to and from town. My only negative is the rooms are very small. Otherwise a nice place to stay.

This hotel is fairly new and that shows in all the fresh, clean decor. The reception area is spacious and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. If they were struggling with English they went to find another member of staff. The room was fairly small, like all Japanese hotels, but clean and comfortable, apart from the pillows which we had to change. Breakfast was good-the usual mixture. The area is lovely with plenty to do in the few days we were there. We also went on an amazing bike trip in the neighbouring town of Furukawa with Satayama experiences- highly recommended. The only slight down side was that the hotel was out of town, which we did know in advance. There is a minibus with friendly drivers but they are not at regular times. Sometimes there are 2 an hour but sometimes there is 1. It would be so much better if they were 2 an hour all day at regular-ish times. We came unstuck with the minibuses twice: once we accidentally went to the east instead of west exit and once we missed it by 5 mins then had an hour and 15 to wait. All our own fault of course, but something to watch out for. After a long days walking and sightseeing we didn’t really want to catch the minibus back into town in the evening so ended up getting sandwiches from the Family Mart across the road. I didn’t use the hot spring baths as it always seemed quite busy. All in all, a relaxing and comfortable stay.

Très loin de centre, mais navette gratuit proposé. Chambre trop petite pour y rentrer avec 2 valises standards. Onsen juste ok. Climatiseur dans la chambre ne fonctionne pas, très froid dans la salle de bain.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. We had a booking at a different place but realized that the other one was an hour out of town. We stumbled on the Tabino and ended up staying three nights. It also is at the outside of town but they have a shuttle service that runs back and forth to the train station every hour. The rooms are clean and comfortable but a little small. The rooms were very quiet and the morning buffet was adequate. I definitely would recommend this hotel for a stay in quaint Takayama.

Snowy stay.
The hotel was out of Takayama but there was a shuttle bus provided. Breakfast was ok but a bit limited with choice. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Wifi good. Hot shower and comfortable bed.

Nice hotel, a little out of town but shuttle bus made up for that, lovely friendly staff,great Onsen,on the slight negative side, the room was very cosy and breakfast was very Japanese, ( no suprise there ! )

Super good hotel in Takayama.
Great hotel, room is small as Japan standard. Very nice staffs and wonderful outdoor onsen. Breakfast is also very good. Best choice for driving a car with plenty of free parking.

Great hotel with a great onsen. No complaints about the hotel itself. Only issue was, I contacted the property about their shuttle bus and they told me to check the website. I checked it and waited at the stop for the time that was displayed on the website. The bus never showed and I paid for a taxi. When I arrived at the hotel I notified the staff member of this and they advised that the winter schedule had not been updated on the website and apologised. A frustrating situation especially considering that I had actually contacted the hotel prior to arriving. Again, no faults about the room, hotel or onsen in general and I would stay again.

it's around 3km away from main train station, if looking for staying away from main station this place is cozy for staying. they have Family mart right infront of their hotel, got in/out door hot water pool and they also provide shuttle from hotel to main station only, doesn't include from main station to hotel I think; I was there by driving by myself so i'm not sure on the info.
