"Absolute lovely stay, excellent value. Very traditional and welcoming, "Wol" really looked after us, treated us like VIP's with recommendations when we went out and took us through the breakfast menu (which was needed due to the amount of choice and customisations!) Huge portions. House and room had beautiful decor and attention to detail, we stayed in a four poster bed, which was a real treat. Ideal location, away from the busy roads but very close to Scrivner's bookshop (the main point of our stay) and the Old Sun Inn pub. Would come again (when we've learnt how to play chess!) "

"Brilliant location. The Deputy Manager was very helpful and efficient. Breakfast was self serve and was delicious and plentiful. Parking outside the hotel is avaliable for 4 hours max during certain times (pay at meter), however you can purchase a 24 hour permit from Reception for £6. We'd definitely stay again. "Lovely clean room & very little noise from the pub, which was absolutely rocking, on Saturday night. Helpful & friendly staff (who also sorted the heating for us). My Mum had the ground floor ‘accessible’ room as she has trouble with stairs & that’s AMAZING. It’s a great spot to access the town: love Buxton. Our second time there & will be returning. "

"Spa was excellent. Loved the variety of steam/sauna rooms and pools. The outdoor pool was great and the indoor one with the glass stained roof was amazing. So chilled and relaxing. The hotel room was very spacious. Staff were friendly. The Darwin’s Bar was cosy and welcoming. We had two cocktails which were very well made. Only let down was the restaurant. If we were to stay again we’d eat somewhere else. "

"Room was well-appointed, of a decent size and with a refurbished bathroom. Housekeeping staff friendly and efficient. The Lee Wood has always been one of my favourite hotels in Buxton. Only complaint was that it didn’t snow - which is hardly the fault of the hotel!"

"It was comfortable, quiet and conveniently located for exploring the area. Comfortable beds, everything one needed in the kitchen, big bathroom and large dining/sitting room. Wasn't keen on open plan bedrooms upstairs, where one could see and hear everything that was said and done in the other bedroom."
