The cottages are part of the Hotel Vik. The hotel looked abandoned at first as you have to go a little further for the main entrance. Check in was easy and the room was ready a little before check in time. There is parking by the cottages but you have take luggage up some slopes. Each cottage has two sides. You will hear the noise of the doors on the opposite side opening and closing but beside that don’t hear your neighbors too much. The room was decent size. The king bed might actually be two beds put together. Even has separate comforters. The beds were soft and I didnt care for the blankets. They were lump and hard to get right. The bathroom was small. It had a heater in there which was nice. The shower was a corner shower with doors that collapse in and then when needed open out and then you go in and connect them again. Small shower and the floor outside will get wet. The water temp and pressure was great and I actually enjoyed the shower. There was WiFi in the cottage and a decent amount of channels on the tv. Overall it was a clean room. Small bathroom. Cottages are in the back of the city but quiet.

Good location, easy access to black sand beach! Room is clean, nice and warm. What i love most is the adjustable heater.

Very small and basic cottage but clean and modern. The shower is super tiny. They have all this land, just don’t understand why they have to build such a tiny cottage, it’s not as if they are limited in space. It was ok for a one night stay.

Didnt realize ourcabin was actually two rooms, not dure if it was clear on expedia so i was a little disappointed. The view wasnt great a lot of construction out front. It was a convient location though.

Cottages are very small for a family of 4. But they are clean and all amenities were there. Its just the bed size which is not fit for family of 4.

I can’t say enough amazing things about our stay! The location is amazing! Walking distance to restaurants, black sands, hiking, and shopping. The scenery is BEAUTIFUL, really breathtaking! Staff is super nice & accommodating! Breakfast at the hotel was great, restaurant and bar at the hotel were also fabulous! I would highly recommend this stay to anyone visiting the area!

Small shower and toilet. Parking is about 30m in front but down a gentle slope. A need to carry luggages ( path not suitable for rolling luggages) to and fro during check in/out. But staff at main hotel reception were great and helpful.

Cute cottage - pictures made it look like location had an ocean view - however the view is now blocked by a new hotel under construction. also there is not much sound proofing - there are two units per cottage and you can hear everything from next door. Price was right though - so would probably stay again

The cottages are cute and cozy woth modern bathrooms. Breakfast the hotel (next door) was very good. The bar thr hotel was very nice too.

Other than the regular hotel, cottage style provides a quiet and a comfort living feeling, and it is close to the black sand beach and grocery store, very convenient.

The cottage was just as great as we imagined it would be! Private, warm, spacious, and close to everything in town. We highly recommend staying in these cozy cottages! And have the black crust pizza at Black Crust Pizzeria! It was delicious!

The photo of Vik cottages suggests they are in a remote field. They are not. They are beneath the cliff where the church is and facing a building site behind which is the main 1 road, petrol station and supermarket. The cottages are a shed made to look cute from the outside but bland and a box inside. They had electric wall heaters which were off on arrival (no geothermal heating or water in Vik) . It was very much just a bed for the night, I would not want to stay more than 1 night. We ate across the road at Strondin which was a lively bar but the food was expensive even for Iceland standards and very unimaginative and small portions. The check in and out at the main hotel was formal and not that friendly. I recommend Sokol Beans cafe in the school bus just along the track from the cottages.

Okay for one night stay
Cottage had some nice view but were partly blocked by the new developments in front of the property. The room was small and the bathroom even smaller. Having a shower was not ideal. Cottage has two individual hotel rooms (I.e it is shared with another person). I would say it’s okay for one night stay. The staff are really nice and the hotel restaurant was very accommodating. Would go to this restaurant again.

Is perfect! For those who wants to explore the south part of the island. Easy access from the main road. Fast check in, friendly staff. Extra comfy and warm beds. We only stay for one night but definitely will come back and book more days in our future trip.
