Lovely Christmas break with family. Excellent from beginning to end. Hôtel, staff, restaurants, location and the beautiful city of Lausanne. Will definitely visit again.
This was one of, if not the nicest hotel we have stayed in. The staff was incredibly helpful. Our room was impeccable with comfortable beds, heated bathroom floor beautiful balcony with view of Lake Geneva. We did not care for the restaurants, but that was our personal choice. If you want a 5 star hotel - stay here, you will not be disappointed.
This is a fabulous high end hotel with wonderful food, great wines, and a beautiful setting. The staff is friendly, charming and efficient. But to ask for US$ 1,230 for a five minute ride to the station and try to persuade guests not to take the US$13 taxi is taking the fleecing of guests too far. A hotel of this standard should offer complimentary rides for their guests to station to make use of the highly efficient Swiss railway. For example, the Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa in Interlaken, does exactly that, offers guests free rides to the Interlaken Ost Swiss Railway station.

This is more than a hotel stay. It’s an experience. From the moment you arrive you feel transported to a different life. Every staff member makes you feel like you are their most important guest. After checking us in and making sure we had dinner reservations Geulia took us on a tour of the gorgeous and meticulously maintained hotel and facilities then personally took us to our room to ensure we were pleased. Our room and view were spectacular, so quiet and luxurious, every detail thoughtful and beautiful but also comfortable. The pool, spa and restaurants as well as the surrounding areas by the lake are romantic and walkable- there is no need to leave the hotel. We also enjoyed the history of the hotel as well as pictures of famous people who have stayed. Even the gift shop was a delight as Nolwen treated me to a beauty refresher and made me feel like a queen for an afternoon. All in all a magnificent stay. If a once in a lifetime 5 star experience is on your bucket list- this is the one to go to!
Nice looking hotel when we drove in, but…
When we checked in and asked for the table for dinner there was no availability in any of the restaurants. So we had to go and eat outside of the hotel.
We were only given one room key which made it difficult as it authorised the lift and the electric in the room. So we had to be inseparable ;)
When my partner came down to the pool area he was aggressively asked directly:
"What's your name!? What's your room number?" without any politeness or respect.
It was a bit rude ...
The shower in the room smelled of sewage almost made us feel sick.
We asked to get two bicycles for a few hours in the morning. It was mentioned that they may be complimentary but we were charged
80 CHF. And also this is one of the few expensive hotels where they will charge you
55 CHF for parking for the night. And all of this for almost 1k per night.
We stayed in lots of nice hotels over the years and you wouldn't expect these sort of issues.
So quite disappointed after all and definitely wouldn't go back there or recommend it.
BTW we don't normally complain about the hotels. But this one deserves an honest review.
Rude and unpleasant staff avoid this hotel.
This is the kind of hotel that will exploit every little opportunity to take your money.
Perhaps a 5 star due to the location but 2 star staff
As in case of previous stays, the hotel was immaculate. The only thing that I did not like is that at the reception, they offered me a "much nicer room" than the one booked, at a surcharge of 150 SFr. The room was very dark, and at the end I paid EUR 750 (breakfast not included( for spending a few hours in a black hole. I strongly recommend to check the room first if they make you such an "advantageous offer", or to flatly reject it if it is room no. 170.
