"The rural setting, deep in the heart of Tuscan countryside not far from Pieve and Montepulciano, is perfect. The hotel has beautiful landscaped gardens and a lovely pool area. One of the highlights though is the hotel's in-house restaurant. Wonderful gourmet quality food, focussed on fresh, local produce, cooked and presented to a high standard. "Throughout our stay there was a terrible smell of sewage in the hotel especially in the lobby. The doors were kept wide open to have fresh air come in. It did not help. Talking to the staff they pretended that everything is in order. The room was warm so we opened a window. Had to shut it off immediately because of the smell. We ate at the Michelin star restaurant at the hotel. One of the worst meals we ever had. the food was mediocre, and, every now and than a smell of sewage was introduced...

"This is a nice place away from the crowds. You are surrounded by hills which makes for beautiful scenery. Siena is about a 25 minute curvy drive if you do not choose to eat at their restaurant. Extracurricular activities are limited to the pool. The room was spacious but the air conditioning struggled to keep the room cool in the 95 degree weather making it somewhat uncomfortable at night. This is a good location for relaxing and quiet. "
