A shallow stream running through a swamp (background) is what's left of a paleo river at the Sungai Batu excavation site. Carbon dating on iron ingots and other findings at the site indicate a port civilisation, with a thriving iron smelting industry that predates Angkor Wat, Cambodia and Borobudur, Java.
