"Our stay at the GrandWest Arashiyama was exceptional. The room was spacious and clean, reception was incredibly helpful, and the location was quiet and idyllic. During our stay we made the most of the amenities including free refreshments, a washing/drying machine, and a cute cafe situated just downstairs from the hotel entrance. Our stay here was easily one of the best parts of our trip to Japan and I highly encourage those visiting Arashiyama to consider this hotel!"
"The best thing about this hotel is that it’s adjacent to the train station! Just like the other reviews, it is slightly outdated but still a nice place to stay. They only gave me 1 pillow which was uncomfortable and that was a bit disappointing. "

"A complete serene get-away. Removed from it all. Booked a suite with a bath and massage chair, also included den area and “dine” area with additional cots for extra visitors.
They do close the gate from 10pm-5am, if you’re looking to go out for the night, ensure you’re out until 5am. Otherwise, this is perfect to checkout and decompress. Breakfast was phenomenal and scheduled, you pick your time. There is also a free shuttle to the stations. "
"It is a " love hotel " which it doesnt tell you on expedia , and the location is far away from everything including the train ( 2km) 30 min walk . But as a hotel it was great !! Clean and cleaned every day clean towels , sheets, a Great jacuzzi tub and a good shower . Everything you could want in a room. Big bed , big screen tv , karaoke and a fridge , microwave , a stand up fan good , and good air conditioning . Honestly its an amazing room for the price . But it is a love hotel ."
