This place is false advertising online. When we arrived to our room, there was a HORRIBLE smell. Bugs flying all over the room. Roaches and spiders crawling in the room. Dead bugs were smashed on the walls and no one cleaned it. I booked a Luxury Double room but was given a deluxe room with one bed. They tried to upgrade rooms but still the same issues. This hotel is not luxury. It smells old. It looks as if it’s not used. The doors had holes in them which allowed bugs to settle in the room. We could not sleep at this hotel so we left. It has been a hard time getting a refund from the hotel and Expedia. For something that is not my fault and I booked according to what I saw advertised. This was a horrible experience as i had to spend over $300 to get better accommodations. I DO NOT RECOMMEND staying at this hotel!!

Staff are brilliant. I was there for 2 weeks and they made me feel very welcome and they always asked how my day was etc. the hotel is right in the old quarter and was a perfect base. The breakfast is in a sister hotel only 2 minutes walk away at my pace . I didn't really eat there much. But it was basic but ok . The room is cleaned every day. 2 bottles of water in the fridge every time. I was happy here.

A beautiful hotel with excellent facilities. We had a wonderful stay. The staff were amazing, especially James, who went out of his way to make us welcome. He is a true gentleman and a true asset to The Grand Hotel Du Lac.

Superb location within the Old Quarter, this hotel has everything you need for a successful stay in Hanoi. A real quality experience. However, it's the staff that make it memorable. Exceptionally professional. They truly go out of their way to help you & make any stay feel extra special. They make repeat visits a no-brainer.

The restaurants in the hotel serves excellent Italian and Vietnamese food. The General Manager is very helpful and friendly. He is always around to talk to hotel guests and share information about Sapa.
