"We stayed here over the Fourth of July weekend while visiting St. Ignace and Mackinac Island. Considering the holiday, the price was reasonable.
The staff was the highlight of our stay. They were friendly, helpful, and waited for us when we arrived around 2 a.m. Communication through the Expedia app was excellent since the room phone wasn't connected. Housekeeping made the bed daily, and clean towels were provided whenever requested.
The room had a few cleanliness issues. The curtain had fallen off its hooks when we arrived, so I rehung it myself. We noticed dust on the headboard, inside the dresser drawers, and on the lampshades. The bathroom could have been cleaned more thoroughly, and we found a few ants and spiders behind the bathroom door and under the sink. The bed sheets also felt very thin compared to what you'd expect at most hotels.
The A/C worked great, the shower had excellent water pressure, parking was convenient, and the hotel was fairly quiet.
Breakfast was disappointing. It included toast, bagels, fruit, cereal, sausage patties, pancakes, waffles, coffee, juice, milk, and water, but no eggs or other hot options. The dining area also had dead flies on the window sill and dust in the corners.
Overall, the staff made a great impression, but better cleanliness and an improved breakfast would make this a much better stay."
