"Thanks Ray and the team, for a lovely stay. Hotel/pub was located in centre of Axbridge, just around the corner from a free 48hrs car park and handy for getting around to surrounding areas like cheddar gorge etc. Room was a lot more spacious than we anticipated, it was spotless, with daily change of towels and top ups to tea and coffee facilities. Staff were really nice and accomodating and it was nice to meet some of the locals too in what seems like a really friendly little community. Hopefully we will make it back sometime."

Quarry Cottage

Quarry Cottage

10/10 Excellent
"A super well-loved cottage. You can sense the cottage was very well maintained with well equipped kitchen. We love the massive living room and board games downstairs and the bedrooms were lovely size. The beds were standard doubles so it was a bit tricky for my elderly parents to roll in bed but otherwise no complaint! A bit hard to find as it in the beginning was behind another cottage and Google got us a little lost but eventually able to find it. Could not recommend it enough. We absolutely enjoyed our stay"

"We had an exceptional stay at Compton House. Our room felt luxurious - it was beautiful, spacious, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable, with a great bed that guaranteed us a perfect night’s sleep. Patricia was a wonderfully welcoming host who made us feel completely at home and truly spoilt us throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious, with an impressive variety of food served in a spectacular dining room. The entire house is elegant, warm, and stately, filled with interesting art and antiques, yet still homely and inviting. It’s peaceful, beautifully furnished, and perfectly located with amazing walks and stunning scenery right on the doorstep. We couldn’t be happier with our stay - highly recommended."

Littlemoor Cottage

Littlemoor Cottage

10/10 Excellent
"The property is in a quiet cul de sac of the village. Note there are street lights in the cul de sac but none in the village. You need a torch. The place was clean. Good sized bathroom. Well equipped kitchen especially if you want to cook for yourself. The cottage is an ideal base for visiting the area with many attractions a short drive away. There is no where to eat within walking distance but the 2 local pubs are a short walk and the locals are very friendly. As we were there for a week we had a largish case which you’d struggle to get up the narrow spiral staircase so bear that in mind. If there was some storage for clothing downstairs that would be perfect. Also nowhere to hang wet items if the weather isn’t great. We did try to contact the owners through this site twice but no response and also sent them a message on the number supplied and heard nothing back. We are trying to resolve matters through Sykes Cottages. Overall a lovely place to stay and we would recommend "
