"Really liked staying here with my family. Friendly staff, fair price, clean rooms, pet friendly… it’s next to the financial district so pretty quiet on weekend and weeknights. (We were there on a Saturday and most restaurants nearby were closed around dinnertime. But the hotel restaurant was nice and not too pricy, at least for San Francisco.) the upside of quiet is it was pretty quiet at night - unlike many neighborhoods…. Yet the location is pretty central - which is nice. It’s within easy walking distance of the Ferry Building and Embarcadero, and Chinatown and Market St. A slightly longer but doable walk to North Beach or Union Square. We liked it and will definitely stay again."

"This property is in a great location! Short walk to Pier 39, the cable cars, streetcar stop right up the street. It was perfect for our 3 day vacation in San Francisco. The staff checking-in, at breakfast, and the bar were all fantastic and incredibly friendly and welcoming. The breakfast buffet is top notch and really helped start our day off. The room was nice. Would stay here again and will recommend to anyone. "

"From the moment we walked in, we felt safe and well taken care of! Staff is all friendly and helpful. The property has the old glamour of the grand hotels of the past with all of the modern comforts and amenities. Resort Fee gets turned into a hotel credit to spend at restaurant. Love this place! Check out the little french cafe across the street at union square, lovely indeed!"

"The Chancellor Hotel had charm and the staff were very nice. Cookies, coffee/tea available in the lobby. Popcorn was made each evening. Alicia in the lounge was such a treasure - she took time to visit with us and make us feel very welcome. The hotel is close to the BART (which we took from the airport), the LRT and the cable cars. Union square is a block away. The room was small, but that’s to be expected in an old hotel. Everything worked well in the room. The mattress was possibly nearing its last days (our only negative in our whole stay). Lots of pubs/restaurants/bars in the vicinity. We would definitely recommend this hotel. "
