Muntri Mews is very beautiful. We stayed on the upper floor. The bed was huge and built in and a bit high off the floor but manageable. Breakfast was a la carte and delicious. Location is great with many restaurants and shops within walking distance. Staff most helpful.

This is a restored property, so it was such a treat to stay here during our stay in Penang. The history surrounding the property and the area is what we were looking forward to see, and we hope to go back in the future. The staff are all friendly and helpful, the food at Mews Cafe is delicious. All in all, we had a pleasant stay.

Property was unique as its in an old terrace house. However, it could have been better maintained, the room was a little dusty and floorboards were creaky. If you are looking to stay in an old house for that vintagey feel, its not bad. Not really ideal for young families or elderly travellers as there are stairs to climb to the room and in the loft which are slightly steep. The rooms are not partitioned but its really spacious. Check in and out were smooth, courteous front desk.

Love all the staffs that are very friendly and helpful, and I mean everyone.. get to know from them that the place was converted to hotel from stable.. and after conversion , the place has a very strong peramakan feel.. excellent experience with the friendly staff and place.. will definitely stay again

Muntri Mews embodies the essence of a heritage hotel, with beautifully restored architecture and a quaint living compound environment. The rooms were large and cozily decorated. It would be great if reception could keep to their claim of 24x7 and stock up on room amenities such as tea bags, rinsing glass, face towels. Housekeeping for subsequent days can also improve. Overall it was still an enjoyable stay and definitely memorable. I will consider returning in future.

Pros - big and clean room. Cons - no tooth brush provided. No staff helping to bring the luggage to room at 2nd floor. Water pressure in shower area is weak. No parking space, struggling to find one at roadside

Great stay
what an amazing experience. Living in such a well restored historic house was part of my Penang experience. I loved my room, and especially the bed, I slept so well. The shower and toilet is so beautiful and clean it’s very key to me when I travel. Linda at reception and staff overall are so kind and friendly. The other places around Chulia Street is buzzing with noise. I was greatly go in such a quiet space and within walking distance you join the buzz. Penang is a must visit and Muntri Mews a must. Don’t book at muntri grove unless you like their neighboring karaoke bar which goes on to 3am!!! Friends stayed they and had to move to Mews becos of the noise. But I give Muntri Mews 5 stars

Lovely quaint hotel!
It was recommended by someone who came earlier and it did not disappoint. The hotel was a refurbished Peranakan house with a lot of artefacts from a bygone era. Close to all the famous eats and nightlife. Spacious room w modern amenities. Warm friendly staff. Will come again!

Central location, great service by staff!
We had an amazing time at Muntri Mews! It's central location, super friendly staff, the cafe, the lounge area with its preserved character, and the cozy and colorful room all made our time there great. We loved that we could walk to almost anywhere, and yet Muntri Mews was not in any noisy part of town at night. Definitely a must stay for anyone who wants to do the tourist thing in Penang and walk around.

Best thing was the service--classic Malaysian hospitality from the moment we checked in till we were waiting for the car out ("Do you want some extra water for your ride?"). Room was spotless; location is wonderful for exploring Georgetown; and I love the large living room where I spent hours reading over margaritas from the hotel bar.

Our room was in floor 2. No elevator so we had to bring down pur luggage the stairs (they are kind of tall). Very very nice room. Super big! Nice breakfast (one dish+drinks). Very good area. Near to everything.

The staff were welcoming and attentive and gave our stay a very unique and personal touch. We loved our cute little room (the beds were amazing) and the whole experience was wonderful. Could've done without the bats at night though (was not expecting them that first night back to our room), and the stairs were very steep and nearly caused a serious accident.
