"The hotel is very different from most other places you'll stay at in Japan, which was all part of the experience. We stayed in the forest wing which is the newest addition to the property. The rooms are large with comfy beds and a decent bathroom. Breakfast is a generous set menu and a choice between eggs or french toast. There are bus stops nearby and the train to start the Hakone loop."

"The hotel was amazing and would definitely recommend. The rooms were spacious and clean, the futons were very comfortable. Our room had a private onsen which was a highlight. The kaiseki dinner was very delicious and well thought also to accommodate our kids. The breakfast included a wide variety of foods. The gardens of the hotel were very beautiful and peaceful- we enjoyed walking there many times a day. The hotel staff was kind and very helpful! The bus service to the nearby stations worked well. All in all, a near perfect stay, a very special experience and would definitely recommend!"

"We enjoyed our stay - the rooftop with a view of Fuji was excellent! Location was nice too, a bit of a walk from the train and the shuttle was only available if we waited 30 min - that was the only bummer but we ended up walking and all was fine."

"The stay was very good. We had a private bath in our room and it was very nice. The private onsen left a bit to be desired. We were unable to utilize the public onsen due to tattoos. The location near the ropeway and ship were amazing. The buffet was above average. Would stay again."

"The property was beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. However, it was overpriced for what it offered. The only amenity was the onsen bath, which had separate facilities for men and women, so we couldn’t enjoy it together as a family. Overall, the experience did not justify the high price, and we felt we didn’t get good value for the money."
