"The property was heaven on earth. Beautiful serene place to be. The onsen town itself always also beautiful to walk around and get a coffee, etc. The breakfast and special dinner at the hotelwas a spectacular work of art multi course Japanese feast. Highly recommend. Having our own mineral onsen in our room was also a highlight. Love this place."

"Fantastic traditional feel onsen hotel, with both public and private onsen baths, comfortable western rooms, public spaces and amenities (robes, refreshments, late night complimentary ramen, etc. Near scenic river run , quaint shops and restaurants, shrines, temples and bamboo groves, all within walking distance. Amazing breakfast buffet, well worth the upgrade."

"We saw Mount Fuji early in the morning and it was breathtaking! Breakfast overlooking the forest behind the property was delicious and so beautiful. The onsen in our room was wonderful! Hotel staff were so welcoming and helpful! The shuttle bus from the station to the hotel made getting around Shuzenji accessible."

"What an incredible stay for us. First time to a ryokan (i.e., traditional Japanese inn w/ onsen). What an experience! Hotel is somewhat confusing to navigate, but that is part of the adventure. The public onsen was incredible (note: they swap the male and female sides, so pay ATTENTION!). The room we stayed in was "traditional" in that we had five futons atop tatami. Haven't selpt that well in a long time! The in-room onsen was a bit old school (basically a deep tub), but still oh so magical. Just a great experience overall. Plus Toi, while quiet, has a lot of charm once we go exploring."
