Price was right, nothing fancy, but served our purpose. A place to sleep, nice clean bathroom, small fridge and table. We don’t spend a lot of time in our room, a place to sleep and clean up. This was good for that, and location was good. 20 min walk to Kyoto station, and about the same to Gion area. Would stay again. Couple in late 40’s.

Maintenance of the hotel is poor as water machibe, etc..out of order.
Room was clean. Washroom was clean and spacious any japanese bathrooms. It was a bit confusing checking in, I didn't get an email for code but the front staff was helpful. You're not allowed to check in early, but you are allowed to leave your luggage. It will be in the front area with a chain lock, so if you do leave your luggage at the front, make sure you have a lock on your luggage. Ten to fifteen minute walk from the main kyoto station. A bit hidden to find but there will be a sign outside.

Quite disappointing for Japan standards. Non existent customer service; we had issues checking in as we were supposed to receive some sort of code to enter into the machine but never did. It is a automatic check in counter and if you have an issue you call someone on the phone and they send someone out who have no interest in helping you out either
The electricity in our room randomly stopped working and luckily the service staff, who seem to be foreign as well were kind enough to help out.
Location wise, it’s far from the train station, you might as well pay a bit more to stay closer
I like the bedding. Mattress and pillow and down duvet are nice

This property as immaculately clean and tidy. I can not fault it for cleanliness - it’s one of the cleanest places we have stayed. I am so impressed given the affordability and easy of access to public transport (a short 5-10 min walk). Would definitely stay here again.

Could be cleaner, found a snack bag behind a couch and there was some dust on virtually all surfaces

Very clean, comfortable, well located (walkable distance to Kyoto Station and to main attractions). The staff was also very welcoming and useful. We highly recommend it!

What a great stay! You get so much for the value of a night’s stay. While we didn’t use them, they provided a smartphone and had the option to use their private ryokan.
Our twin room was spacious and we loved that they were eco conscious. The entire hotel was beautiful and the staff were very helpful and kind. For us, the distance was not too bad from Kyoto Station but I could see it being a problem for people who don’t enjoy walking tons or have sore feet! It’s about 1.3km from the station. We paid for one taxi and it was just over 800¥ (at 6am).
Would stay here again if I ever came back and would recommend to friends and family who are budget conscious but want a nice spot!
Probably the best hotel of the 4 I stayed in. This hotel appeared newer and was more spacious but it was a little farther off. One recommendation was their bikes should be full day rentals and slightly cheaper as they lose out to nearby competitors. Otherwise it is a great hotel. Would stay again
The Glad One hotel is 15 minutes walk from Kyoto main rail station and just 7 minutes walk from Shichijo metro station. It’s situated in a peaceful residential area. Glad One is a fairly new modern hotel with clean spacious comfortable rooms that are above average size (for Japan). The hotel reception staff are very friendly and welcoming and speak good English. Checking in was easy and they even brought up our bag to the room. Aoi Iuchi from reception was particularly helpful during our stay. We initially found that our room had a air conditioner which was not cooling effectively enough, Aoi immediately moved us to another room within 10 minutes of contacting her. She was also very helpful with advice and tips for the most convenient or most cost effective methods of transport for sightseeing locations. We enjoyed our stay with Glad One very much and thank the staff for looking after us.

The staff are very friendly although they speak very little English. We are lucky to be able to communicate with one of them who can speak Manderin. The room is very small but the two beds are very big. They could have made the beds smaller to make room for luggage. It is very nice of them to let us store our luggage in the hotel for a short period of time even after we have already checked out.
Well equipped room, friendly staff.
Great idea to include complimentary mobile wifi handset for guests to navi on their trips.
Quiet area to get gd rest.
Great environment for a good rest, and a good jog. No convenient store within 100m. You could walk about 300m to Macdonalds, convenient stores or eats.

The hotel is near to the subway. it only need several minutes walk. also the hotel is not far away from the downtown. you may work 20-30 minutes there. i dont have the breakfast there. so you need to find somewhere to eat
