We really loved the traditional Japanese room with a small stone garden - it felt like a real experience of Japanese life. The room was lovely, traditional futons were comfortable. The coin operated washing machine in the common area was a great help! The area is great - we loved a little side road the hotel is situated on. We loved being close to the river and busier touristy areas, while staying in a more quiet environment.

Perfect location so super easy to get around in walking distance to Nishki market and close to the train station. Staff were all very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Rooms were clean and cosy, comfy bed and good aircon to keep the room a nice temperature . Overall a lovely hotel and I would definitely recommend staying here when in Kyoto!

I originally wanted to book Hilton for location, but this hotel is literally across the street and much more affordable. While the bathroom was a little weird, think cruise ship bathroom, it was more than comfortable for us. You cannot beat the location. Literally in the middle of the shopping district surrounding Nishtki market. Would definitely stay here again. The Smart Coffee cafe around corner is a great place to start your day.
