Rooms were clean and had air conditioning. Staff were friendly and were able to speak English allowing for easy check-in/out. Amenities did include a private bath that could be reserved. It was a short walk from Kyoto station which was great for commuting.

I love this place so much, and enjoyed our stay. Room is small but thats expected in Japan. Overall it was an amazing stay, and staff are so pleasant and friendly. Will likely to stay here again, when we go back to Kyoto!

Honestly would never stay again. We were told we had the option of either getting our trash taken out from our hotel room or offered a drink in exchange for them not having to take the trash out. On top of that when I went to go wash some clothes, the washing machines were in very poor conditions and the washing machine area smelled like mildew. Instead of them fixing the issue there was just a layer of towels spread out across the washing machines?? Not sure what that was about, but this was the worst out of the 3 hotels we stayed at and would strongly urge anyone to please book elsewhere for a better experience in Kyoto.

Cozy place

Very nice and cozy place! The staff all spoke English and they were very welcoming and helpful. The place itself is very nice, there’s a library and a “common room” which was nice and spacious! Definitely recommend this place for other solo travelers as well! The from was clean and spacious and I enjoyed my stay. The wall are very thin though, so if you have sensitive ears you should take that into consideration. The area is very nice and close to transport and restaurants/cafés

Our three nights stay at Tune in Kyoto were amazing. The hotel is close to Kyoto Station and going to the city centre is easy and convinient. The lobby with the gin bar and movies is a great touch. Our room were definitely sufficient. The staff is good at english and very accomodating.

Lovely Hotel with Perfect location

I met a friendly staff, Zita, from Hong Kong, she introduced the facilities in the hotel and recommended some restaurants nearby. The room was neat and tidy, though it's a bit small, it's really comfortable and convenient. I will recommend this hotel to my friends.

Loved this place, my favorite hotel I stayed in in Japan. The location is super convenient, very close to Kyoto station for a good price. The room was very comfortable, I like the benches for luggage storage. Amenities were also nice, definitely recommend booking the private bath. You need a reservation but don’t really need to make it ahead of time, I asked the front desk at like 11pm and they let me use it. Short films every night and lots of cool books, really nice atmosphere. And free drinks if you don’t opt for room cleaning! Would definitely stay again.

Good Kyoto location

Smallish double room which was really warm until the air conditioning was put on and only came with one pillow each for the bed but was brought one from reception when staff were asked. Has shared kitchen facilities downstairs as well as coin laundry which was in demand. Soundproofing of the room was good but not perfect. Plenty of staff at reception all the time and was allowed to store luggage there before checking in. Location good, handy for Kyoto station.

Unexpected hole in the wall type of property. One wouldn’t expect that it looks the way it does inside based on its exterior. Very modern, clean, and elegant inside. Outstanding interiors. The Double Room is decent size. Bathroom and shower area is larger than most of the hotels/airbnbs we’ve stayed at in Japan. Love the long bench on one side of the wall, convenient for luggage placement. Has a Family Mart a few steps away and multiple dining options around including an amazing sushi place across the street. Hotel also has umbrellas available for guests to borrow in case of rain. Overall a great stay! Would definitely stay here again.

I had high expectations for this hotel. It was very dark and had a cold, gloomy feel to it. Room size is standard Japanese... theres no kettle in the room. Basement is communal kitchen with hot water, fridge, microwave etc. The mini movies were international screenings. Location is 10min walk to Kyoto Station and less than 5min walk to several bus stops. I wouldnt stay here again. Not bad but not great. You have to pay 200 yen tax per night stay as well.

There are some spots on the counter which has the sink near the floor where the metal was already separating from the wall, on both sides (see area next to the chairs)

Location Good, unique hotel

When I called about accessibility, I can take a few steps and do not need my wheelchair to move around the room and access the bathroom, I was told a small step into the bathroom. It was a very large step. Also was not barrier free to get to the reception, there was a curb before getting to the door to reception. At check in, the hotel staff should have recognized the room I booked would not work for my chair. I have no problem that I had to pay more for a different room. I however should not have even been checked into the original room. I could barely get my chair into the room and it provided no space to charge or move around the room once the chair was in. This was probably a perfectly fine hotel, staff was friendly, hotel was safe, clean, quiet and very unique. However, for my needs this was not a good hotel.

Among the best accommodation I've experienced in years. Very clean and comfortable room. The reading area is fantastic, and the shared movie nights are a great idea. Not far from Kyoto station either.
