The hotel is in a very convenient location with great access to buses and subway. For those who like to walk, it’s about a 20 min walk to Gion. Right by some big department stores and popular dining/shopping area. Yet the hotel is on a quiet street so it was perfect. I only booked room and not breakfast so cannot comment on the food. The rooms were spacious and clean. I especially liked the separation of the sink, toilet and shower area— makes it easier to share the room. Provided amenities were great.

This property was absolutely gorgeous. The property is pristine and the ambiance was magical. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. I was so sad to have to leave this hotel.

This hotel is in a great location with very friendly and helpful staff. The highlight for me is their public onsen - so cool! Sparkling clean and fully equpped showers and changing room. The hotel also has special access to the Jokyoji temple next door. Unfortunately, it was closed the day I ried to visit - next time. Arigato!

Beautiful service by exceptional staff and a lovely hotel. The breakfast is amazing and filling. Bear in mind though that the hotel doesn’t have onsite laundry facilities or a gym and the absence of a bar / area to hang out in is a bit of a missed opportunity but there are plenty of bars and independent gyms nearby

We chose Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Kawaramachi based on recommendations and a previous great experience at their Tokyo location. Perfect spot in beautiful Kawaramachi district with clean, comfortable rooms and an amazing public bath. Friendly, helpful staff and walking distance to excellent shopping, restaurants, and bars. Great public transport connections too. Loved our stay and can’t wait to return!

Loved this hotel. Not only conveniently located to shopping and restaurants but very well appointed from the moment you step in. A peaceful, calm and incense infused oasis from the heat and crowds. The room as well exceeded our expectations, and with a public bath and access to laundry we found our stay quite relaxing. They were even able to assist with shipping our large suitcase ahead to our next hotel. George was especially helpful as our Japanese language skills were not ideal and he provided lots of local suggestions. We will be staying again and this is a highly recommended hotel in right in the heart of Kyoto’s shopping hub.

We enjoyed our stay here a lot. It is conveniently located to multiple different subway lines and buses route. It is convenient to get to most tourist destinations, including Arashiyama, Fushimi inari and Nara.
