Cute spacious room, sliding doors, kitchen and washing machine in room. Zen-like decor and friendly staff. Just a few minutes walk from Tōji station, convenience store next door and Toji Temple directly across the street.

Great place to stay in Kyoto.
This is an excellent place to stay near Kyoto. It's right across from the Toji temple and about 15 min walk from Kyoto station. Our room was decorated in a modern interpretation of Japanese style with elegant features and a lot of beautiful wood. Kitchen and bathroom had full set of amenities, including a stove top, refrigerator and a washer/dryer. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Included breakfast options were delicious.

Loved it! Didn't want to leave! big room fantastic environment good blend of traditional with modern amenities. Free bento breakfast if you stay more than one night. Everything about this hotel is pleasing to the eye beautiful place to stay.

The pictures of theh otel online do not do it justice. This is a beautiful hotel that mixes modern amenities with old-world charm. It is convenient to the train and just across the street from one of the beautiful Kyoto temples.

We absolutely loved staying at Sunrise Suites! It is a lovely and small hotel right off of a main street, which makes it very walkable to many types of transportation. The staff was fantastic--extremely friendly, so very helpful, and made the stay that much better! The only reason we gave this place a 4/5 in overall ratings was for 2 reasons: 1. The breakfast every morning came to us cold. It was always on time and overall a good variety--it just would have been better warm! 2. The room had an odd scent that appeared to come from the washer/dryer combo. Granted, just having a washer/dryer combo in-room was enough to overlook it. But if that were fixed, it would make this place even better than it already is!

The design of the hotel was amazing! It felt like a traditional Japanese inn, but the room was large and there was a Western-type bed. Kitchen and laundry included. The staff was very cordial and helpful. Local train station was a ten-minute walk.
