Beautifully designed hotel with interiors that vary in each room. Conveniently located by the metro and by cute antique shops and near the imperial garden. Staff were very helpful and provided vegan breakfast option every morning. Recommend !!

Beautiful hotel located directly across from the National Garden, in a very peaceful part of town. The Design room was gorgeous and spacious and had a lovely view of a series of shrines across the street. Reception was wonderful and allowed me to check in to my room very early, were very welcoming, professional and provided great service - thank you again for the great stay!

Situated in a beautiful and quieter part of Kyoto but well connected to the main sites, bus stop nearby and subways within reasonable walking distance. Rooms was super spacious and staff were very friendly and helpful throughout! We had the breakfast everyday via room service which was very good and overall just really enjoyed our stay here, would stay again!

Amazing hotel! It was way above our expectations, the rooms are very large and super comfy. The hotel gives a super relaxed vibe, and everyone from the hotel staff is super lovely, helpful and welcoming. The hotel is within walking distance from most attractions in Kyoto, and within ~20-30min public transport from the train station and further attractions. Can’t recommend enough!

One of the most beautiful hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. Want to come back just to see all the other designs. Great location not in a major tourist areas, but still very walkable and an easy busy to Fushimi Inari and Arashiyama would 100% recommend.

Nice staff, large spacious rooms with designs of Japan. Breakfast was decent as it was included, just wish you were able to choose what you’d like versus the set menu provided (for example ask me how I would like my eggs) Location is perfect, 10 minute walk from subway stations, Starbucks, and shopping areas.

It’s in a nice location. Each room has a different design. I am a designer and I did not like the original room they gave me. So I requested to change a room. They accommodated the request so that was nice. My luggages were heavy. But the hotel requires walking on steps in certain areas without elevator. So it was hard on me. In terms of accessibility, it was poorly designed. The staff were helpful. But certain staff did not understand English, which made the conversation a bit difficult. Overall, if you don’t mind accessibility issues, do not need to carry heavy luggages, push strollers or use wheelchairs, then it would be a great stay. One suggestion, make sure you request the room you like, otherwise you might end up in a room which does not meet your taste. I like the location very much, it is in a quiet and not touristy area of Kyoto. Love the vibe.

The room we had in the Screen was great. It was huge, had a shower and jacuzzi bath, a loving room area with a tv and free mini bar, as well as a lovely big bed. The staff were increasingly friendly and useful, and there was also a breakfast each morning. The area the hotel was located in was just near the park and was on a road full of lovely shops, about a 15-20 minute stroll into central Kyoto.

This is one of the most unique places we’ve ever stayed in. Every room in The Screen is done by a different designer and the one we got was incredibly spacious by Japanese standards. The room felt luxurious with its simple yet stunning design, comfortable bed, floor-to-ceiling windows, and great amenities. The Screen is located in a quieter part of the city but is only a quick walk to bus stops on Kawaramachi. We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back.

The breakfast was nice, a little different but fresh and a choice of Western or Japanese. The room was massive and clean, I believe we were upgraded to a suite and there were included drinks in the fridge which were replenished. Bed was comfortable, good sized bathroom and a storage cupboard for suitcases and hanging clothes. All the staff were lovely and helpful.
