Majestic Elegance Punta Cana - All Inclusive

2/10 Terrible

"I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately this was my experience. I booked a swim-up suite for my anniversary and birthday trip. From the moment we entered the room, there was a strong musty/mildew smell. We opened the sliding doors to air it out, ordered room service, and tried to rest after a long travel day. Unfortunately, the odor remained and there were frequent loud noises coming from the area next door. When I became ill, I asked if tea and toast could be brought to the room, but was told only menu items could be ordered. Over the next couple of days, the smell and noise continued, and by the third day I was exhausted and my anxiety was through the roof. After completing a guest survey, a manager contacted me. I explained the situation and was told there was no construction taking place. However, I had photos showing work being done next door, which appeared to be the source of both the noise and odor. An upgrade was offered, which I appreciated, but by that point I no longer felt well enough to continue my stay. Despite spending a significant amount of money on what was supposed to be a special 7-day vacation, I checked out after only 3 days. I was disappointed that no compensation or partial refund was offered for the disruption. I understand that others have had wonderful experiences here, and this review reflects only my personal experience. However, I do not believe guests should be placed next to active construction or be lied to. Thank you."

"Stayed in a hotel for 5 nights and had 2 rooms. One thing I have to complain about is the cleanliness of the rooms. Bathroom shower glass had soap scum in both rooms and part of ceiling paint was coming off. Rooms all together did not feel clean at all."

"No air conditioning that days we was there, all areas The food wasn’t good compare with the majestic colonial Entertainment was the worst from 6pm forward was no music even live music. The lobby was poor look like cemetery with all that silence. At least 2 days before noon the local beer President was empty. They run out of local beer . Mattress stinks Is sad because we have excellent experience at the colonial we have no idea was going on in the mirage When we went to the pool no waitress only the last day"

"There are very few resorts that really cater to vegetarians or special diets and this is one of the very few. This was exceptional for us with most restaurants offering vegetarian options and upon arrival at each restaurant were asked to reconfirm any dietary restructions or allergies matching what they keep online in their file at all times. We particularily enjoyed the attention given to menus at each of the many restaurants with many creatively successful Dominican interpretations of other cuisines. The all day onsite Aroma café offers best in class café experience with refreshed delicate pastries throughout the day that made for wonderful stops throughout the day. As very light social drinkers that do not spend time in bars we appreciated the presence of a high end café staffed with their own chef patissier producing pastries and various icecreams. This was a luxury experience with a Domincan feel at all times from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. All coordinations are done via the convenient Excellence Resorts app we installed including a chat to remain in contact and any interventions we requested had follow-ups. We used the phones a few times but the app was generally more convenient. The resort is not only adult only but offered many quiet areas where we could enjoy peace and quiet as a couple without being bothered by loud music or activities. There were quiet areas for beach also finding chairs never an issue for us."
