We were on the 3rd floor And the shower was trickling and the toilet needed enough water to flush but our friends on the second floor had no problems. The staff was excellent and food was also wonderful. WiFi was poor from the room, went off and on, and could only be accessed downstairs by the pool and not from the comfort of your room

Cleanliness is the most important , the towels beddings are bad, airconditioning needs improvement, no intercon to connect with front desk, no hot water, bathroom needs exhaust system

Amazing hotel and staff.
This hotel is amazing. The owner Hans is a super friendly german man. The whole staff is extremely nice, you feel super welcome and at home. The hotel facilities are amazing. The pool is also great. If you want to take some tours they arrange everything for you. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

Internet description and pictures misleading
Arrival to the White Castle is 2km down a very narrow single vehicle track past huts with lots of locals and dogs about. I had booked 2 rooms and on arrival, about 7pm and dark, the first impression was strange as there was only one other car in the car park. Booking in was very quick and helpful but discovered we were on the 2nd floor and there is no lift (not mentioned on the internet) but a man took our bags up winding stairs and corridors. The 2 rooms (8 and 9) were spacious but no TV's (not mentioned on the internet). Shower in one room not working and the 2nd room had a large Cockroach in the bathroom and the air conditioner unit was the height and immediately at the side of the bed, so when it was on you were directly receiving the blast. Internet access was not available in the room (not mentioned on the internet) I voiced my concerns and told the staff that I was greatly disappointed. They told me they were fully booked and could not move us. (They were surprised to learn what I had paid) . They then decided they had one more room available and showed us. It turned out to be the room shown on the internet which did have a TV. Eventually they suddenly had another room but again the shower didn't work. Next day we decided to find somewhere else but they argued we could not get a refund even though I expressed many times that I was not happy as the internet was very misleading. I located a lovely place (lago de oro) on the main road which was brilliant and cheaper..

Relaxing Stay
The room is big and clean. I like the garden and the view of the sea and the coconut trees. Our stay was very relaxing. I would like to note a few odds in our stay: The shower was broken and the food was expensive.

A Fantastic Get Away!
It was an amazing experience. The hotel was well kept and the staff are courteous. My only comment was that there are garbage in the beachfront. It would have been a perfect get-away if the beach is clean.

Beautiful hotel with a pool and near the beach.
The hotel and staff was perfect what I don't like is that guests are not allowed to cook on their own. The hotel requires a very costly corkage if one brings food from outside. It's understandable that they have a restaurant which, is base on my point of view, very expensive but that the price is not commensurate to the taste or amount served. I just hope you can give your guest a choice or better yet don't charge too much because it can ruin the trip when one is not satisfied with what they eat.

The hotel is okay, however we did not swim at the sea because the beach and water were very dirty. I know this is not wholly the fault of the hotel but it general, this area needs some serious cleanup. Else, it'll end up like Manila Bay.

Good but not so nice
The hotel itself is nice and okay. Very friendy and accomodating staff that will assist you for everything you need Food is nice, value for maney is very good since service is enough for 2 persons. The bed maybe hard and not soft enough to be comfortable. It's just the beach front, the sand, and beach itself that I will not recommend to others.

Excellent resort right on the beach.
Stayed for only one night, but it was a wonderful experience. The beach was nice, as was the pool area. We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel and the food was very good!

The owner Hans where in th hotel and made the stay perfectly. Me and my friends and my girlfriend hade a great time. We did not want to leave. Its faraway. Just like we like it. But it cheap and easy to find it whit the tricycle.

Worth The Return Trip
We stayed in this hotel a few months ago and was very pleased with the continuing friendliness and overall pleasantness of the staff and facilities. We were surprised with a water side view this time with an upgrade to the room that was unexpected. Everyone from the manager (Mary Grace) to the groundskeeper was very helpful and attended to our needs. The holiday weekend resulted in more guests this time than before but there was no let down in the service. The breakfast was good and the coffee hot! It is still tricky to get to the hotel from the main road but there are clear signs to direct you.

PROS: Food for dinner was delicious and the serving was huge. Prices are reasonable, as well. Service is very good, staff are friendly and the resident manager, Grace, is accommodating. There are things to do like volleyball, and they have nice open-air cabanas. The pool looks clean (we didn't swim so I wouldn't know for sure). If you don't want to camp out, the place is near Burot Beach. CONS: The rooms assigned to us were on the 2nd and 3rd floor. It was raining when we arrived and within an hour after arriving, my husband slipped on one of the stairs leading towards the pool because the "hand rail" was made of marble so there was no grip because it was wet. Fortunately, he only got a few cuts on his arm and a temporary backache. The resort offered to bring him to a nearby hospital but the cuts were minor and his back recovered so we decided not to go. We requested to be transferred to a room on the 1st floor and was offered one fronting the beach. The room looked like it has not been used for a while (the videoke machine was stored there) and we figured out why later - the aircon was leaky and formed a puddle on the floor. We did not bother to complain anymore as we were only there for a night anyway, and the resort was full so we didn't really have a choice. The neighborhood is not ideal. It's situated in a fishing village so the beach is not very clean. There's lots of trash on the shore, and in some areas, floating on the water (like diapers, etc).

Hello Mam, Thank you for staying with us, once again i feel sorry for what happened to sir i hope he is already okay. The room is not prepared because we used it just for peak season and in case of emergency (like what happened). I suggested already to the owner to have some changes about the flooring and the hand rails to avoid accidents. Once again thank you for staying with us.

Only if you have a car..
The hotel was just ok.. I suggest you only go there if you have a car or motorbike because it s kind of remote place and transportation is difficult and costly. The room was big but not even a kettle or a small refrigerator inside..wifi not covering at all in room.. I think those thinks are a must for a hotel. The food was ok but costly also... Cleaning is ok only a lot of ants in the bathroom.. The rest are ok.. It s a nice place to relax..

Nice hotel but forget the beach
Fortunately I had read comments posted on this site prior to going there, where I learnt that the hotel was very isolated, down a very narrow road. This information was very accurate. However, the description of the the beached not prepare me for what I encountered. Firstly it is a black sand beach. Whilst the hotel keeps the immediate beachfront clean, and free from litter, the beach and surrounds on either side left a lot to be desired, with littered debris covering the beach in both directions. The pool became very inviting as a place to swim. However, the hotel itself was above expectation. The room spacious and well appointed. and proved very comfortable. Poolside dining, drinks and lounging around was very peaceful, as there is not a large number of guests in the hotel at any one stage. Whilst the option of eating out is very, very limited, the hotel provided meals very very good, and were reasonably priced, as were their drinks. The staff were very friendly and ready to assist. Their service always came with a smile. Whilst the location of the hotel was disappointing, the quality of the hotel more than compensated for this fact We stayed for 3 nights. The hotel was perfect if you want a quiet, peaceful time, and not interested in doing a range f activities often associated with beach holidays. Recommended if you want a quiet getaway for a couple of nights!

I was not happy from the time I got there
I was told be email, cant contact hotel by phone, that the hotel van could not pick me up, but worked when local wanted to ride to market, I had to get a driver that cost me more, there is no sign to direct you to front gate, so driver ended up stuck in sand on beach, a pac of dog meet me in the courtyard, ( if it had been my wife she would have lost it ), took me 15 minutes to find someone to check in, I was shown two room that was available both smelled of musty I took the one with less odor, A/C unit made a noise the whole time it was on, could not keep the room cool, security light was poorly placed outside of the room, shined light into room all night, black mold on ceiling of bathroom in shower area, I lost money cause I had three nights book, but wife and I was not happy and left early

There are better options.
A bit tricky to find. I had to move here coz my hotel was fully booked - and thus was one of the few hotels with rooms. Beggars can't be choosers! Nice friendly staff on the front desk. Make sure you don't use the deadbolt when you go out coz they won't be able to get in your room to clean it. Awful breakfast served in your room. Small and cramped bathroom.

Not so good one lane road
Road going to the hotel was bad. You have to go through mostly rough, one lane road.If you happen to go there at night you would be scared since you will be passing along dark, narrow sugarcane fields and worse it lacks signages. The hotel was not well kept, our windows' locks were broken and could be easily opened from the outside. Food tastes good but quite expensive.

Old colonial style classic hotel
Very interesting old colonial style hotel in an interesting place but way off the beaten track. Nice rooms, nice courtyard garden, al fresco dining under the stars,quiet location, good food, and really great staff. For the price exceptional in all ways. Immediate surroundings and beach not so great but a short boat ride brings you to really beautifull pristine beaches or snorkling on coral reefs. If you want old style, a quiet and relaxing but interesting holiday and to see the real village life this is for you. We had a really nice stay, experienced lots and saw the reality of life for many filipinos. Staff were really exceptional. It doesnt have 5 star furnishings or standards but for the price its very good.

Typical beach front hotel off the beaten track...
A little on the old side, but the welcome and service was good. No TV in our room but the pool and the garden replaced the need for that. The hotels beach was clean but the surrounding beaches were not. The food and drink prices were fair.. For me I enjoyed my stay, in fact I stayed an extra day.. Not for those who like to complain, but good for those who understand that this is the Philippino way....

The Junior Suite Deluxe was spacious enough for my husband and I together with our 2 kids. It had a living room, small bar, veranda overlooking the sea, and a very spacious bathroom with tub. My kids loved the beach when it was low-tide. Water was clear but shore was with small trashes. Fishing boats were parked around the area and the next morning we noticed oil spilled in the water so we opted for the pool instead. Food was served with generous portions and was delicious. The road leading to the hotel from the main road was very narrow though. We kinda doubted if we were going to the right way at first. Overall the experience was okay.

Not good Experiance!
My wife and I decided to get away and chose what we thought would be a nice place, we were greeted by the manager which was Ok. We ordered lunch but was disapointed, the chicken was not well cooked and had to be returned for further cooking, the Carbonara with saucy cheese was really not good [it appears that the cheesy sauce] might have come from the freezer and defrosted] Yuk! In the evening we ordered salad to go with the now re-cooked chicken, [It came back overcooked] the salad would have been Ok. if it was not swimming in about 1 inch of salad dressing, [Yuk]. In the morning [after a sleepless night because of the noisy aircon] we had breakfast [all these meals were served in our room] but sad to say the quality of the food was not as should be expected [it was cold], not the best experiance. I was glad that we had only booked for 1 night and we then travelled to another location where we had a better experiance. I think the value for money was not there and the charges in comparison to the other place we went were very high. The service given by the staff delivering the food was Ok. We have learned from this experiance. I did suggest to the manager that he spend a night in each room to evaluate for himself what is required in looking after guests. We ourselves entertain many overseas guests for up to a week at a time, with top class food and accomodation so we know how to look after people.

Comfortable hotel in a relaxing environment
After spending a night in Manila we wanted nothing more than get out of the hustle of city life. We booked 3 nights at White Castle for some much needed R&R. Rather than a hotel transfer we decided to risk public transport... As well travelled backpackers we had no problems getting from the centre of Manila to the front door of White Castle. Our route was; Taxi from hotel to Coastal Mall Manila, bus from mall to Calatagan. With the aid of Google Maps on my phone we were able to get of the bus as close as possible to White Castle, leaving only a short tricycle ride from the main road to the door. For a non-experienced traveller it might be more of a hassle then an enjoyable experience. It was a little after dusk as we arrived at White Castle and it felt like we had stepped into a fairy tail. We were met by one of the friendly staff who showed us directly to our room, where we saw the furniture only added to the character of the building. After a quick freshen up we went to the reception and ordered some food and a cold beer. We ended a long day with a quiet stroll on the beach. White Castle is on the foot of a beach, a short drive from the closest town. On the night we arrived there were only a few rooms occupied and everyone seemed to be out. This made it feel like the castle was our own :) We were able to rent one of the motorbikes to explore the area over the following days. Overall, we had a lovely time at White Castle and would not hesitate to return.

Dieses Hotel bietet allen die Entspannung und Relaxen suchen alles was man für einen ruhigen Urlaub ohne Stress sucht. Das Personal ist freundlich nett und immer Hilsbereit.das Essen aus Deutscher und Italjenischer und Phillipinischer Küche ist hervorragend und reichlich.Ich werde das Hotel das nahe am Meer liegt weiter empfehlen

観光地化されていない、素朴な海の家。
ここは、こじんまりしたホテルでしたが、清潔で料理はお母さんが作ったような素朴で美味しいものでした。 何よりも安いのが良かったです。宿泊費やお料理が。 海辺のホテルなので、すぐ前が海ですが、あまりきれいではありませんでした。 ゆっくりのんびり過ごすには適しているホテルです。 部屋は清潔ですが、アメニティが少なく、エアコンの効きも悪かったです。
