Rub shoulders with your favourite stars, and make the acquaintance of some of Hong Kong’s local celebrities at this fascinating wax works museum.

Opened in 2000, the first Asian branch of London’s successful Madame Tussauds waxworks museum is a fun day out for the whole family. Located inside the ultra-modern Peak Tower shopping complex on Hong Kong Island, you’ll find over 100 wax celebrities spread over three floors at Madame Tussauds.Go on a celebrity-filled journey through themed sections such as The Champions, Hong Kong Glamour and Music Icons. Jackie Chan, the martial arts hero is waiting to greet you as you enter the museum. Pose for photos with glamorous stars from the past like Marilyn Monroe, or present day sporting heroes like David Beckham. There is everyone from Hollywood A-listers like Nicole Kidman to pop icons like Lady Gaga and political greats like Barack Obama. There are also plenty of big names from Asian cinema and the local Hong Kong celebrity circuit. These may be a little harder for you to recognise, but take cues from local visitors to suss out the Asian superstars! Pay a visit to the spooky Scream exhibition next to the World Premiere section. Set inside an abandoned asylum, be prepared to come face-to-face with waxwork monsters and real-life actors in scary costumes as you try and find your way out of the darkened corridors. The best time to visit Madame Tussauds is on a weekday, when there are fewer crowds and you can spend a couple of leisurely hours in the museum. The museum is part of the Peak Tower, so if you have time, take a trip up to the Sky Gallery for some of the best views of the Hong Kong skyline. Alternatively, stroll along Lugard Road which has pretty amazing views of the Central and Kowloon neighbourhoods, as well as the South China Sea. Open daily, Madame Tussauds is best reached by tram or Minibus. Take the Peak Tram from the Peak Tram Lower Terminus on Garden Road, or the Minibus 1 from the public transportation interchange at the Hong Kong Station MTR.
