Immersed right in the heart of the city. With the owners bringing the culture right from the drink they served you upon checking in, to the intricacies of the baba experience embedded in your stay, to finally serving up authentic peranakan cuisine in the morning. Highly recommend to experience this at least once in your visits to Melaka.

The way we were welcomed was really exceptional. Thank you to Callena and Chester were gracious host any guest could ever get. They are the best. My oh my!!! The breakfast spread was simply the best. This place is 5 STARS!!!! I would recommend this place to all who visit Malacca.

Beautiful
Our stay at 5 Heeren enhanced our short stay in magical Melaka. The building and decor is beautiful. The team were helpful, welcoming and generous in sharing about the Nyonya culture. Breakfast was full of local specialties, and delicious. 100% recommend.

Beautifully renovated hotel
This is one of the best hotels we have stayed at. The family suite was spacious, the beds comfortable, the bathrooms clean and new. The staff were very helpful and the morning’s breakfast incredible: we were treated to excellent local food, made from quality ingredients. The hotel is very well situated, in the heart of the historical district but it was quiet and peaceful.

Gem in the middle of Melaka
We had a wonderful stay at 5 Heeren.The interior is amazing, the room was beautiful and clean and luxurious. The breakfast (all local dishes) was served at our table with extensive explanation by the owner herself. The location is excellent, near the river and just 100 m from the Stadhuys. When we go back to Melaka we will definitely stay there again. Special thanks to Izzah and the rest of the staff.

I will definitely come back to stay.
I must say this is a jewel hotel in Malacca. Amazing peranakan items and all other collectibles and artifacts from different part of the world . It is a collection of museum . The staff are friendly , quality breakfast , very clean hotel . The owner and family are very friendly as well . The owner chat with us every morning during breakfast sharing with us about peranakan cuisine and her collections of items in the hotel. The location is excellent for sight seeing, shopping and food . The room we stay is not extremely quiet , a bit of muffled noise from nearby bar but didn’t affect our sleep at all . I will recommend my family and friends to stay in this hotel .

It is an impressive Nyonga residence and it is a museum residence with amazing decors and antiques the owners collected over the years. I strongly recommend people stay in this boutique house hotel to immerse yourself in the Paranakan/Nyongya culture.

Truly immersive experience in a Peranakan house
Truly immersive experience, like a homestay as a guest in an exquisite Peranakan house, complete with a great Asian breakfast (best Ondeh Ondeh we’ve eaten) and warm, personal service. Stayed in the Opium Pearl room and everyday was a homecoming to a traditional but cosy room with modern bathroom. First time ever in a canopy bed - like being in a period drama, and so much more special than your typical hotel room! Although there were other guests, overall felt very private. Bonus to have met the cute Chubby Chow!

This is such an amazing hotel! Our room is absolutely gorgeous. And the location is so convenient-walking distance to everything. Good central, quiet location and excellent breakfast with local specialties. Good location on a historic street near the Jonker Market. A little expensive for Malaysia. Got a few mosquito bites there.

Lovely stay
It was like staying in a living Peranakan museum, with plenty of antique Peranakan furniture, yet the amenities were modern. Potted plants in the courtyard provided a beautiful subtle touch. Staff Nora and Sara were very helpful and friendly. The location was ideal, being within walking distance of the historical sites, Malacca river, and the vibrant Jonker Walk weekend night market. Breakfast was excellent, especially the laksa and kueh.

We stayed at The Grand Harbour Suite...one word: Amazing! Our favourite part of the room is the huge, furnished balcony with a view of the Malacca river. Every morning, we looked forward to the delicious Peranakan breakfast. Excellent location, right next to Jonker street. Check out the Hoga Tea shop that’s attached to the hotel. We would like to thank the team: Elvina, Nora, Diana and Sarah for your warm hospitality and making us feel like VIPs. Malacca is beautiful...its people, the food, everything! The location is great for exploring Jonker Walk and the canal, which is teeming with activities especially over the weekend. The hotel staff were all very helpful and amiable. The breakfast spread was exciting. The accommodation was like a step back in historical times.

Unique experience in a museum residence.
Conveniently located. Easy access to most attractions. Minutes walk to food eatery, police station, H&M and San shu gong, jonker walk and christ church , river cruise and etc. Hotel staff Ms Vicky Chan was warm and attentive to details and made our breakfast session in the hotel an unforgettable experience. We stayed during weekdays, the rooms were not fully occupied. It was very quiet and peaceful. Initially we were quiet worried with steep steps on the traditional old stairs to our room at third level. There was another easier option to climb up and down via the new stairs near the back of hotel. Bathroom was bright and clean. Overall experience is pleasant and unique.

good convenient location and comfortable bed
they stay was good as the hotel is only next to jonker street . the toilet was clean and well equipped. many beautiful antiques in this hotel.roaming around the hotel feels like home. the old wooden antique cabinet in the room makes strange noise due to humidity/dryness of the environment. the room which i stayed has a constant water gushing sound from the pipe on the ceiling ; quite disturbing for sleep. very quiet hotel and guest needs to keep their volume low so as to not disturb any neighbors in the night. the crazy techno-music trishaw on weekend nights can be rather annoying. good breakfast. will come back and try another room next time. good security system.

Make me feel I am back in the 60s.
It was a 2 night stay for us, the location of the hotel was fantastic. The design of the hotel make me think that I am back to the 60s. The staff was extremely friendly and polite. They have a total of 10 room with different theme. Simply love the atmosphere of the whole hotel. Their breakfast was very localized and tasty. Will definitely return whenever I go to malacca. Really love the hotel.

The whole hotel is a museum!
We stayed from 11th to 13th October. The appearance of Baba Nyonya style is also beautiful, but it was surprisingly wider than I imagined when entering inside. Also, the interior was decorated with antique furniture and works of art, as if it was like an art museum. The room surrounded by antiques was very clean and beautiful, and I was able to stay slowly. Breakfast was traditional Malaysian cuisine, which was delicious, and the arrangement was very beautiful. Also, all the staff were friendly and could stay comfortably.

Unique & pleasurable experience
Booked 3 nights in 5 Heeren for our babymoon as I really loved the pictures of the Peranakan architecture and décor of this hotel. I must say the place looks nicer than in the pictures! (too bad no photography allowed) We stayed 2 nights in Oriental and 1 night in The Grand Boulevard Suite, both rooms were nicely decorated each in its own unique way, very clean bathrooms. The staff were all very friendly and approachable and always helpful. This hotel was converted from an authentic traditional Peranakan house so naturally there isn't any elevator/swimming pool, which I totally understand and was not a big problem coz my husband took care of carrying our luggage up the stairs but it was still a little tiring for me (5-month pregnant at the time) to climb 3 storeys to Oriental after a long day's walk around the old town, so those of you travelling with old people you might wanna consider if the elders would complain about that. The Grand Boulevard is on the second floor so it's a bit better. I love the different breakfast meals with traditional Peranakan food and kuehs we get every single morning. The staff keep everything in the hotel in very good order, plants and greeneries are well-maintained, everything is so clean and the floorboards don't squeak when you walk on it like in some of the older buildings (I guess they must have reinforced the floorboards or something when the place was refurbished). The whole place is very quiet, calm and elegant, just love it.

Lovely stay.
Having travelled around to many places and countries, I must admit this is one of the most wonderful hotel/place to spend your holiday in! Highly recommended if you truly appreciate the unique one of a kind establishment. Hospitality is awesome! We felt like we are visiting old friends at their home. Nothing is out of place and if there is, it's probably us! You can see if in the owner's attention to details as reflected in this grand old dame. We love the nice kuih kuih (Nyonya cakes) and it reminds me of grandma's home where she used to fry kuih kodok. Nostalgic to the sense that this brings back memories of childhood.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staffs. Refreshing housemade welcome drink were also served to us. I am happy with the service and amazed by the Peranakan Antiques that the owner collects. They have comfortable pillows. The location especially is fantastic. It begins from the nights market from just a minute walk. The only two issues I have comes from the noise of which I do not know if It's from the window, the main door, or the connecting room door. The other issue is the mosquitoes in the room. Despite the air conditioning and blanket up till shoulder, the mosquito managed to sting my neck. In the end, we couldn't sleep and checked out at 0530 at dawn. A pity we didn't get a chance to try their breakfast.

A special and must stay hotel in Melaka.
We stayed two nights on our visit to Melaka, It was a unique and special experience.. A very personal and 5 star service, The hotel is very well located and beautifully decorated. We will definitely returned on our next visit to Melaka.

for those who likes and appreciates the rich Peranakan Culture, this place is a must stay !! Small boutique styled .. very private and quiet !! nice high tea, nice breakfast !! good location, park the car and u never need to drive till u check out again .. Inside the place its more than a Muesum as some reviewed, its like a Gallery !! everything u see is so rich in its culture .. really amazing and beautiful .. The owner has really put in alot of personal touches to this Fine Piece of ART !!
