My stay there was quite eventful. The staffing went above and beyond what is expected, the whole time i was there. I lost my phone in a grab car and the staff jump right in and took control to try to get my phone back, the ladies at the front desk and office staff when totally out of there way to make me feel comfortable and safe. Heck even one of the staff actually showed me around the area and the sights. Thank you Hestor for going out of your way to show me around.

Good: Very helpful staff. Bad: I have this feeling that I was given a downgrade because I booked online. Booked a de luxe room but it looks like their junior suite. It wasn't noise proof. I can hear people singing and shouting outside my room at night.

No parking, parking at front was unsafe, hotel building entrance is not clean and scary at night, but the hotel inside of the hotel is very clean, rooms are very clean, staffs are very friendly and accomodating, and helpful. Room linens are clean, shower is roomy and clean. Don't judge a book by its cover. Free food is good and delivered on time.

The rooms over all were nice/luxurious. A small bundle of hair left in the shower was missed by the cleaning staff. My fiance tried to get a second room key while I was sleeping but was refused...one key per room policy.

This is a great place to stay when you are in Quiapo. The rooms are larger than the other hotels close by and for about the same price. I stayed here before the pandemic too. As Quezon Blvd is quite noisy, the outside noise is not noticeable in the rooms. You will not be disappointed staying here !!

I have stayed here before and the service is the same or better than before the pandemic. The only negative is there is no breakfast available like there was before the pandemic. But there are plenty of food places outside nearby.

The staff was outstanding and friendly. The room was clean and the size and layout of the room allowed us to move freely without feeling cramped. I would definitely stay here again....this hotel gives more of the basic comforts and for less costs than more expensive places I stayed.

The room itself is great! The entrance looks not so much.. It looks small and did not expect anything but the room was good and the bed Is super comfie.

Overall I was pleased with my stay at the Sun Star. After some initial confusion about my reservation dates, Mr. Bala was extremely professional and courteous in expeditiously resolving the matter. Also, the young man who was assisting me in securing a grab driver was also quite helpful. However, two of the day shift front desk staff, Marj, and Mildred both could use some additional training in brushing up on their hospitality and interpersonal interaction skills. Not sure if it was just me they didn't like or what, but they displayed an air of indifference and dismissiveness towards me, which was very offputting. Besides that, my stay was great, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Only few were friendly, the rest don’t even smile. Had an incident of miscommunication. You speak to one person and everyone will answer. Honestly, I was a little disappointed.

The best stay with sun star very accessible to shop at divi... no need to ride a high taxi fare just a pedicab worth 20 pesos you can reach the shopping malls with a very very low price and the quality also good to compare.. i plan to comeback again at sun star soon on next vacation.. totally great stay✔👍👍👍

Very clean spacious rooms with friendly staff and security. It is located in a regular busy Manila neighborhood and the hotel is very inconspicuous from the outside, very nice on the inside.

Stayed here with friends for a two-day board exam nearby (hotel was walking distance away from the testing center). The staff was very friendly and accommodating and let us have our requests of early breakfast and early checkout. The room itself is clean and cozy, although the bedsheets get dusty easily and the sliding door to the shower did not work. But otherwise the whole stay was mostly hassle-free, check-in and check-out were painless, which saved us from stress and allowed us to focus on the boards :)

The biggest knock against this hotel is its location. It is located in a mass of people and traffic and I never felt comfortable walking around. And on my first day there they decided to do some remodeling with very volatile chemicals that were sucked up by the ventilation system. I became nauseous and demanded a new room on another floor. I got a new room but I never received the phone call from the manager that I requested. My negative rating is primarily based on these facts. However there were a few other surprises to note. One is that the rooms don't have closets. I didn't notice until I began to unpack. Another surprise is that there is no dining area. The free breakfast is delivered to your room and you have to call every day to ask for service to remove your plate and glass. My last surprise is that NONE of the non-smoking rooms have a window. So you are basically staying in a "cave." All the rooms with windows are for smokers. On the plus side the rooms were modern and clean, the service was good, and the price was reasonable. But next time I will pay a little more for a better location.

We stayed here for 10 days on our honeymoon after cancelling a trip to Palawan after a travel warning. Staff were friendly and helpful. They looked after our luggage after an early arrival, were prompt in organizing transport and were always courteous. Dining service has a reasonable range of foods and the breakfast menu is adequate. Only negative was the floor cleanliness in the room. It did not seem to be washed each time we asked for room service. But that's probably common throughout a lot of SE Asia where people wear slippers indoors. Occasionally some towels did not materialize until a phone call was made. Location is OK. Quiapo is a Muslim district but very busy. Taxis not keen to go there due to heavy traffic.

We booked for non smoking room 3 months ago when we went there they gave us a smoking room their excuse was because they ran out of room we ask them to clean our room they didn't change our duvet cover we have to call and ask them to replace the duvet cover.
