Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience for myself & my sisters. This getaway was a Xmas present; a girls night out for the 3 of us, rarely done in the past & a time to pause and reflect following the death of a family member during the pandemic. I chose Peppers for its CBD location , but more importantly for the chance to sit by that fabulous pool sipping a cocktail or 2 prior to heading out for the night. Unfortunately, I received a call ONLY 24hrs prior to my estimated check in to inform me that both the pool & gym were closed ( due to a leak with the pool ) ALONG with the bar & restaurant . ( due to staffing shortages ) .
I fully understand the implications of the pandemic especially in the hospitality industry, however informing guests of these MAJOR facility closures THIS LATE left no time to find alternative accommodation for the night. Although I could have requested a refund for the booking this was superfluous in this situation. This was particularly annoying as because I had had to change my original booking to this date ( my choice )it had actually cost me MORE to stay this night . More money for less facilities is a poor outcome for the consumer.
