Independent, Mines City hotels

Mines City, or Mines Wellness City as it’s now known, is an integrated health and wellness city located 15 minutes from Kuala Lumpur. It was once Hong Fatt Mine, the largest and deepest opencast tin mine in the world. In 1990, the abandoned mine pits were flooded with water to create a huge lake and the surrounding land was developed into Mines Wellness City.

The 1,000-acre City is made up of four areas called Life Hub, Healing Tapestry, Urban Tapestry and Leisure Tapestry. Contained within the four areas are hotels, a shopping mall, theme park, ice rink, golf course and cinema complex. There are many more wellness developments planned for the future, including a boutique hospital, an aromatherapy centre and an Ayurveda centre.

Mines Cruise offers sightseeing and theme cruises in nimble boats on the waters in Mines Wellness City. On the Sightseeing Cruise, visitors can enjoy the splendour of the lake as they ride around the City. The Wa Wa Splash Tours offer unique 30-minute tours of Mines Wellness City in an amphibious vehicle. The Palace of the Golden Horses hotel boasts incredible restaurants and bars. The multiple-award-winning executive chef at the elegant Kim Ma restaurant cooks modern, healthy Cantonese cuisine and Kin No Uma is famed for its fresh sushi and bento boxes. Hungry shoppers at The Mines shopping centre will find the canal at the bottom of the mall is lined with international cafes, restaurants and bakeries.

The Mines is a contemporary shopping centre offering numerous options for dining, entertainment and shopping in Kuala Lumpur.
