Mines City, or Mines Wellness City as it’s now known, is an integrated health and wellness city located 15 minutes from Kuala Lumpur. It was once Hong Fatt Mine, the largest and deepest opencast tin mine in the world. In 1990, the abandoned mine pits were flooded with water to create a huge lake and the surrounding land was developed into Mines Wellness City.

The 1,000-acre City is made up of four areas called Life Hub, Healing Tapestry, Urban Tapestry and Leisure Tapestry. Contained within the four areas are hotels, a shopping mall, theme park, ice rink, golf course and cinema complex. There are many more wellness developments planned for the future, including a boutique hospital, an aromatherapy centre and an Ayurveda centre.

The Wa Wa Splash Tours offer unique 30-minute tours of Mines Wellness City in an amphibious vehicle. The Mines is a contemporary shopping centre offering numerous options for dining, entertainment and shopping in Kuala Lumpur.
