"We love the free shuttle available in the morning to the bts or imperial mall. The breakfast was good as they had fresh fruit and eggs. But the coffee and tea was really bad. "We had read the entire Thailand speaks our language. Not a single person in Pattaya and Bangkok understands or speaks English. Not a pleasant experience in this country even after spending a lot of money. About 189 resort: The place is far from all connectivity. The closest BTS station is Bearing which is over 2 kms away from the place. The rooms are good and comfortable bed. Staff was good and willing to help 24hrs though they don’t understand or speak English. We used google translator...

"This hotel is about 1 and 1/2hour taxi ride to downtown bangkok. It is situation in a very dirty nieghbourhood with absolutely nothing to do. Why would expedia put this in their list of hotels for tourists. Blows my mind. I saw more stray dogs in 100 ft running on the street than iv seen in a life time. Staff is very friendly. Never go here. You are living in the slums. No where to walk...."

Happy to say the Shangri-La is still serving up wonderful service all these years later. The staff go above and beyond, breakfast is nothin short of wonderful and the location overlooking the river is fabulous. Highly recommend for families. "
