City Center Padova

The medieval heart of Padova captivates visitors with centuries of Italian history and Renaissance grandeur. Wander through narrow cobblestone streets lined with rose-brick facades and discover architectural treasures at every turn. Explore the magnificent Palazzo della Ragione or marvel at Giotto's revolutionary frescoes in the Scrovegni Chapel. University students bring youthful energy to this pedestrian-friendly district filled with historic cafรฉs and piazzas. Sip an aperitivo under ancient porticoed walkways as church bells echo across Piazza delle Erbe. The botanical garden and Prato della Valle offer peaceful green spaces perfect for afternoon strolls.

Historic Centre

Padova's Historic Centre captivates visitors with medieval cobblestone streets and Byzantine-domed architecture. The 13th-century Basilica of Saint Anthony stands alongside one of the world's oldest universities, founded in 1222. Giotto's revolutionary frescoes adorn the intimate Scrovegni Chapel while lively markets buzz beneath Renaissance arcades. Traditional osterias serve local specialities near the famous Pedrocchi Cafรฉ, where aperitivo culture thrives each evening. Budget-conscious travellers will appreciate the affordable accommodation compared to the historic centre. Tree-lined streets lead to local markets and family-run restaurants serving everything from Italian classics to Bangladeshi cuisine. The area provides a genuine slice of Italian daily life with minimal tourist infrastructure.

Guizza

Guizza offers an authentic slice of Italian suburban life on Padova's southern edge. This residential haven provides a peaceful retreat from tourist crowds. Local families fill the tree-lined streets and small area parks. The area's family-run trattorias serve traditional Veneto cuisine at prices lower than the city centre. Budget travellers appreciate Guizza's value, with affordable apartments and B&Bs in a genuine Italian setting. Regular buses connect to Padova's historic attractions like Prato della Valle and Basilica of Saint Anthony. Morning walks reveal the rhythm of local lifeโ€”shopkeepers raising shutters and the comforting aroma of fresh bread from area bakeries.

"We have stayed many times in Venice and can say that this is probably the best hotel we have stayed in. We were met with a very warm welcome at reception by very friendly staff who picked up that it was my birthday and wished me a happy birthday!! Thank you for the complimentary taxi ride to Murano and private tour of one of the main glass factories. Our room can only be described as beautiful and was spotlessly clean with very efficient air conditioning. The view from the room overlooked the canal where many gondolas departed from and was a sight to see them manoeuvring in & out. The bathroom had obviously been recently refurbished as it looked brand new. Only a couple of points, there was a film of tile grout on the tiles by the toilet, a hook needed on the door and a tray for toiletries in the shower would be nice. Breakfast was very busy but service was very smooth and the food selection was huge & catered for all tastes. We didn't get to use the bar facilities but it did very nice with reasonably priced drinks. When we return to Venice, this will be out hotel of choice. 10/10 Thank you."
